COPS/LIVE PD (Paramount Network/A&E) - A&E has opted against airing new episodes of "Live PD" this Friday and Saturday, the latter of which would have marked its 300th episode. "Out of respect for the families of George Floyd and others who have lost their lives, in consultation with the departments we follow, and in consideration for the safety of all involved, we have made the decision not to broadcast 'Live PD' this weekend," A&E said in a statement. Paramount Network has likewise delayed Monday's 33rd season premiere of "Cops." No official statement was given, other than said booking was replaced by the film "Ghostbusters." (Variety.com)
DANCE MOMS: ABBY'S VIRTUAL DANCE OFF (Lifetime) - The cable channel has pulled the plug on Abby Lee Miller's latest spin-off series following an accusation of racism by a former "Dance Moms" contestant Adriana Smith. Additionally, Miller won't return to the flagship series if it is renewed for a ninth season. In the Instagram post, Smith said: "A statement from her that sticks in my mind to this day during my time on DMS8 is 'I know you grew up in the HOOD with only a box of 8 crayons, but I grew up in the Country Club with a box of 64 - don't be stupid. This to me shows that you think you are better than me and in higher rank and all together superior to ME! This to me shows that you don't give a f--- about me or where I came from." On Thursday, Miller apologized to Smith and her daughter however Smith did "not accept Abby's apology because her apology was not sincere." (EW.com)
DEAR CLASS OF 2020 (YouTube) - The global virtual commencement ceremony has been pushed from June 6 to June 7 in honor of George Floyd's memorial service, which will be held Saturday. (Deadline.com)
PANDORA (The CW) - Charisma Carpenter is set to return as Laura, "a mysterious woman whom Jax recognized as her mother," for the show's second season on a recurring basis. Production is expected to commence production this summer in Bulgaria. (TVLine.com)
THE TIME IS NOW: RACE AND RESOLUTION (A&E/FYI/History/Lifetime/LMN/Vice) - A+E Networks has given the upcoming special - airing this Monday, June 8 at 8:00/7:00c - a new title. Previously announced as "We Need To Talk: Race in America," the project is detailed as follows: "As America faces a defining moment after the death of George Floyd, A+E Networks is giving voice to the country's rallying cry that WE NEED TO TALK. In partnership with Ozy Media, the powerful commercial-free special will air across the A+E Networks."
VARIETY'S POWER OF WOMEN: FRONTLINE HEROES (Lifetime/LMN) - The cable channels have postponed the one-hour special, which was previously scheduled for Tuesday, June 9. No new date was specified. It was detailed as follows: "Lifetime and Variety celebrate the female heroes in the frontline of the pandemic. Hosted by Robin Roberts, the special will include appearances by Cate Blanchett, Janelle Monae, Patti Lupone, Tiffany Haddish, Laverne Cox, Nicole Kidman, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Helen Mirren, Gigi Hadid, Jennifer Garner, Blake Lively and Natalie Portman. Andra Day will also perform."
