ADULT MATERIAL (HBO Max, New!) - Channel 4's U.K. series has found a U.S. home on HBO Max: "Set in modern Britain, the 4 x 60's drama from Fifty Fathoms delves inside the porn industry from the perspective of a woman who has been working in it her entire adult life and has seen it grow from an illegitimate backroom enterprise to a mainstream and highly profitable arm of the telecommunications industry. Adult Material will interrogate what's real, what's fake, what's up for sale and the impact that these things have on the individuals involved." Hayley Squires, Siena Kelly, Kerry Godliman, Joe Dempsie, Julian Ovenden, Phil Daniels and Rupert Everett star in the project, from writer Lucy Kirkwood, fellow executive producer Patrick Spence and director Dawn Shadforth. (Deadline.com)
FLIGHT ATTENDANT, THE (HBO Max) - Yasha Jackson will recur on the upcoming thriller as Jada Harris, "a flight attendant who shares routes with Cassie (Kaley Cuoco) and also works the First Class cabin. Polished, poised, and skilled in the passive-aggressive arts, Jada can kill you with a cutting comment while still smiling." (Deadline.com)
FRIED GREEN TOMATOES (NBC, New!) - Reba McEntire is attached to star in a TV series take on Fannie Flagg's novel-turned-film, "described as a modernization of the novel and movie that explores the lives of descendants from the original work. When present-day Idgie Threadgoode (McEntire) returns to Whistle Stop after a decade away, she must wrestle with a changed town, estranged daughter, faltering cafe and life-changing secret." Jennifer Cecil will pen the script and executive produce alongside McEntire, Flagg and Act III Productions' Norman Lear and Brent Miller for Universal Television. (Variety.com)
GILDED AGE, THE (HBO) - Production on the series resumed today. The drama previously shut down after two crew members tested positive for COVID-19. (Deadline.com)
GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES (A.K.A. GREASE: RYDELL HIGH) (Paramount+) - The proposed TV spin-off - "an hour-long musical comedy about how the infamous Pink Ladies (comprised of Sandy, Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchy in the original movie) began and how the reverence, fear, and moral panic they sparked changed Rydell High forever" - is reportedly on the move from WarnerMedia's HBO Max to ViacomCBS's Paramount+, home of producer Paramount Television Studios. Annabel Oakes remains on board as the project's creator, writer and executive producer. (Variety.com)
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (Amazon) - Sony Pictures Television's small screen take on the film franchise has been ordered to series by Amazon Studios. Sara Goodman is now behind the adaptation, which "has the same premise as the movie adaptation - in a town full of secrets, a group of teenagers are stalked by a mysterious killer a year after a fatal accident on their graduation night." She succeeds Shay Hatten, who remains on board as an executive producer, as do Erik Feig, Original Film's Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty and Atomic Monster's James Wan, Rob Hackett and Michael Clear. (Deadline.com)
KOMINSKY METHOD, THE (Netflix) - Kathleen Turner will return for the show's final season as a series regular, reprising her role as Roz Volander, Sandy's (Michael Douglas) ex-wife. (Deadline.com)
LA'S FINEST (Spectrum) - Charter Communications has canceled the Gabrielle Union/Jessica Alba-led drama after two seasons. (Deadline.com)
POSSESSIONS (HBO Max, New!) - The six-part series is the latest Israeli project bound for the streaming service. Haut et Court TV, Quiddity and StudioCanal are behind the effort, the latter of which details it as follows: "Natalie, a young French woman living in Israel, is accused of murdering her husband on the night of her wedding. Karim, who works at the French consulate and is charged with helping French people in trouble, slowly falls for Natalie. He can't decide whether she is vulnerable and lost, or incredibly manipulative. Obsessed with this case, Karim goes deep inside Natalie's mysterious past." Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Reda Kateb, Dominique Valadié, Ariane Ascaride, Judith Chemla, Noa Koler, Aloïse Sauvage, Tzahi Grad, Roy Nik, and Tchéky Karyo star with Thomas Vincent directing and Shachar Magen and Valérie Zenatti writing. Caroline Benjo, Barbara Letellier, Simon Arnal, Carole Scotta, Eilon Ratzkovsky, Osnat Nishri, and Keren Misgav Ristvedt are the producers. (Deadline.com)
PRESIDENT IS MISSING, THE (Showtime) - The pay channel has opted not to move forward with the drama pilot, based on the bestselling novel by President Bill Clinton and James Patterson, about a powerless and politically aimless Vice President (David Oyelowo) who unexpectedly becomes President halfway into his administration's first term, despite his every wish to the contrary. Said decision was tied to "a combination of COVID-19 and current political events." Ann Dowd, Gina Gallego, Janet McTeer, Medina Senghore, Michael Rooker and Paul Adelstein were also attached to star. (Variety.com)
