AMERICAN GIGOLO (Showtime) - Lizzie Brocheré and Gabriel LaBelle have both been cast in the feature-turned-drama pilot. Brocheré will play Isabelle, "the heiress to a large, profitable sex work ring who is more than Julian bargained for"; while LaBelle will portray "Johnny, a younger version of [Jon] Bernthal's character Julian." ANIMAL ACRES (TBS, New!) - Jim O'Doherty has landed a potential comedy at the network which "centers on Danny Doyle, owner and head handler, and his eclectic crew of caretakers at a fictional wild animal compound servicing the Los Angeles entertainment community." Jason Blum of Blumhouse Television is also slated to executive produce. (Variety.com)
AT HOME WITH AMY SEDARIS (truTV) - The variety series has been canceled after three seasons. (TVLine.com)
DEATHBED (TNT, New!) - Neil Reynolds is spearheading a TV take on Joshua Williamson and Riley Rossmo's DC Comics series, in which "when a millennial freelancer is hired to ghost write the memoir of a dying "Adventurer," she assumes his fantastical stories are the product of dementia, until ghosts from his past drag her into a psychedelic, globe-hopping battle over who gets to write history." Julie Plec of My So-Called Company will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Variety.com)
HEAD OF THE CLASS (HBO Max) - Jorge Diaz, Dior Goodjohn, Brandon Severs, Adrian Matthew Escalona and Christa Miller will round out the cast of the reboot series pilot. Diaz plays Elliot Olsen, "a goofy English teacher who loves his job and is genuine to a fault"; with Goodjohn as Robyn Rook, "the defacto leader of the class - though she'd never admit it"; Severs as Terrell Smith, "a year-round athlete, who is uber-positive and all about team mentality"; Escalona as Miles Mendelson, "the shy, introverted, overthinking coder, who'd rather spend time with computers than people"; and Miller recurs as Principal Maris, "an intimidating, tough love boss that always puts the students first." KILL THE ORANGE-FACED BEAR (TBS) - Writer Chris Romano and director Jake Szymanski have scored a pilot order for their project, described as "a comedy about one man's revenge journey after a bear eats his girlfriend." Originally set at Comedy Central in 2017, Trevor Engelson, Steven Fisher and Alex Karpovsky will executive produce alongside the duo for Underground Films. It's not clear if Karpovsky remains attached to star. (Variety.com)
LIBRA (Spectrum, New!) - Lauren Wilkinson is spearheading a limited series at Spectrum Originals based on Don DeLillo's novel of the same name, "a speculative account of the plot to assassinate John F. Kennedy interwoven with the life story of his assassin Lee Harvey Oswald." Scott Huff and David Stern of Playground and Paul Giamatti and Dan Carey of Touchy Feely Films will also executive produce. PEAKY BLINDERS (Netflix) - The much-ballyhooed crime drama will sign off after its upcoming sixth season. Nevertheless, creator Steven Knight plans to end the franchise with a feature film. (Deadline.com)
QUIET ZONE, THE (TBS, New!) - Jackie Geary is developing a proposed comedy at the cable channel which "follows Carina Alpert, a recently divorced astronomer who seizes a job opportunity and moves her kids from Silicon Valley to the National Quiet Zone, a 13,000-square mile area where modern conveniences are limited to protect the country's largest radio telescope." After January's Melissa Rauch and Winston Rauch will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Variety.com)
SHE-HULK (Disney+) - Ginger Gonzaga has been cast opposite Tatiana Maslany in the Marvel Studios series as Jennifer Walters's (Maslany) best friend. The actress had been attached to FOX's drama pilot "The Cleaning Lady," which has pushed and Gonzaga opted not to extend her option when it was up. (Deadline.com)
SPACE (TBS) - Writer Hilary Winston and director Nick Stoller's comedy - in which "long term couple Rob and Marin, on the verge of a breakup, are granted the ultimate "space" to figure out their future when they suddenly begin jumping into the bodies of other couples" - has received a pilot order from the cable channel. The project is set up at Sony Pictures Television and Stoller's Stoller Global Solutions. (Variety.com)
TANDAV (Amazon) - Creator Ali Abbas Zafar plans to re-cut the Indian series following the controversy "over its depiction of Hindu gods and goddesses." (Deadline.com)
TITANS (HBO Max) - Savannah Welch has been cast in the series as DC Comics icon Barbara Gordon: "In Season 3, Gordon is Gotham City Police Commissioner. Uses a wheelchair. She used to be Batgirl until she was shot and paralyzed by the Joker. She has a combative relationship with Bruce Wayne. Her life gets more complicated when Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) returns to Gotham, rekindling their old romance and starting a new crime fighting partnership." (Variety.com)
TURNER & HOOCH (Disney+) - McG has signed on to direct and executive produce the debut installment of the film-turned-TV series. (Deadline.com)
WHISTLER, THE (TNT, New!) - Fred Golan is developing a small screen take on John Grisham's novel about "government investigator Lacy Stoltz, who is thrust into the case of her career when she's tipped off to a decades old corruption in the South Florida judicial system." Golan, Grisham and David Gerner are the executive producers for eOne. (Variety.com)
YOU BET YOUR LIFE (Syndication) - The Jay Leno-hosted reboot series has been sold in 85% of the country ahead of its fall 2021 debut. (Deadline.com)
