BIG SKY (ABC) - Carlos Gomez and Anja Savcic are the latest additions to the freshman drama as Gil Amaya, "former ranch manager forever entangled with the Kleinsasser family, including their darkest secrets"; and Scarlet Leyendecker, "the loving, protective mother of her ten-year-old daughter, Phoebe, played by [Zoƫ Noelle] Baker," respectively. CHICAGO MED (NBC) - Asjha Cooper is the latest to recur on the medical drama as accelerated med student Vanessa Taylor, "friendly, warm and intelligent, Vanessa is the youngest person in her class. Driven and passionate, she has worked hard all her life to get to where she is. The character also has a surprise connection to one of the show's nurses." (TVLine.com)
GETAWAY (NBC, New!) - The network and Universal Television have confirmed a pilot order for a new drama from writers J.J. Bailey and Moira Kirland as well as fellow executive producers John Davis and John Fox. Its logline is as follows: "A destination wedding at an isolated luxury resort quickly descends into chaos after a group of dangerous criminals takes the island hostage. The small group of guests, led by a fearless female army vet, will do everything they can to stay alive."
LIFE & BETH (A.K.A. LOVE, BETH) (Hulu) - Michael Cera has signed onto the Amy Schumer-led comedy series as John, "a farmer and chef who is always honest and to the point." (Deadline.com)
ROCK PAPER SCISSORS (Netflix, New!) - Alice Feeney's upcoming novel is being reimagined as a six-part series for the streamer, which "centers on a troubled marriage that comes to a head during a Scottish weekend getaway that Mr. and Mrs. Wright randomly win. Things have been wrong with the couple for a long time: self-confessed workaholic and screenwriter Adam Wright has lived with face blindness his whole life, and can't recognize friends or family, or even his own wife." Suzanne Mackie of Orchid Pictures will executive produce. No other auspices were given. (Variety.com)
TRAP QUEEN (Freeform, New!) - Miguel Nolla has sold a new drama to the cable channel which "focuses on a gay young man who returns to Puerto Rico after a life changing event. With the burgeoning local music scene as both the backdrop and the soundtrack, that move forces him to face family and romantic issues he thought he had left behind and never expected." 20th Television is behind the hour with Danny Strong Productions' Danny Strong and Mandy Safavi and SB Projects' Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson also among the executive producers. UNTITLED COBURN & WOOTTON PROJECT (NBC, New!) - Nick Wootton and Jake Coburn have received a pilot order from the network for a new drama. Julie Plec and Emily Cummins will also executive produce for Universal Television. Its logline is as follows: "The Untitled Nick Wootton/Jake Coburn project is a pulse-pounding, high-stakes two-hander featuring two women - a recently captured brilliant criminal mastermind who orchestrates a number of coordinated bank heists for a mysterious purpose, and the principled, relentless and socially outcast FBI agent who will stop at nothing to foil her ambitious plan."
YOUNG SHELDON (CBS) - WarnerMedia has sold the series into broadcast syndication on stations covering over 90% of the U.S., including the Nexstar, Sinclair, CBS, Hearst, Gray, Tegna, Scripps, Cox, Meredith, Graham, Weigel, Allen Media, Sunbeam, News-Press, Londen Media, Griffin, Lockwood, Morris groups amongst others.
