ANIMAL KINGDOM (TNT) - Charlayne Woodard has been cast as the modern-day version of Smurf's old accomplice Pamela Johnson in the show's fifth season. Milauna Jemai Jackson played said role in flashback last season. (TVLine.com)
BIG SKY (ABC) - Elwood Reid will serve as showrunner on the series' just-ordered second season. He'll take over day-to-day duties from David E. Kelley, who "will remain as an executive producer and still will be involved creatively." (Deadline.com)
CONFESSIONS OF A CRIME QUEEN (Discovery+, New!) - The streamer has given a straight-to-series order to Lionsgate Television for "a first-of-its-kind anthology series that brings to life riveting, headline-making stories by combining documentary and scripted genres. Each season will focus on the true story of one larger-than-life woman who created and led a multi-million-dollar criminal empire before a dramatic fall from power. The subject will be portrayed by an A-list actress who will also interview the real life female crime lord at the center of the story." EVERYTHING'S TRASH BUT IT'S OKAY (Freeform) - The Phoebe Robinson-led comedy pilot has cast Jordan Carlos as Jayden, "Phoebe's Blerd-y younger brother who was recently elected as a NY State representative"; Toccarra Cash as Malika, "Phoebe's savvy, smart and beautiful "Code Switch Queen" podcast producer"; Nneka Okafor as Jessie, "Phoebe's sister-in-law who's a former socialite-turned-feminist and college professor"; and Moses Storm as Michael, "Phoebe's BFF, roommate and friend since freshman year of college." FLASH, THE (The CW) - Original cast members Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes will both exit as regulars after the current seventh season. "Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons, and will be greatly missed," showrunner Eric Wallace said in a statement. "Both are incredible talents who created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love. Which is why we are happily keeping the door open for return appearances." Additionally, Jessica Parker Kennedy will reprise her role as Nora West-Allen for the show's 150th episode, which also will see the debut of Jordan Fisher as Bart Allen. (Deadline.com, TVLine.com)
