CALL MY AGENT! (Netflix) - BAFTA-winner John Morton is spearheading a British remake of the French hit, in which a "talent agency's employees must scramble to keep their star clients happy and their business afloat after the sudden death of their founder." Production is set to begin shortly on eight one-hour episodes. Lydia Leonard stars as Rebecca; with Jack Davenport as Jonathan; Maggie Steed as Stella; Prasanna Puwanarajah as Dan; Harry Trevaldwyn as Ollie; and Hiftu Quasem as Misha. Fola Evans-Akingbola, Rebecca Humphries, Tim McInnerny, Eleanor Arnaud and Jim Broadbent will also appear in unspecified roles. Executive producing are David Davoli, Samantha Thomas, Steven Thibault, Aaron L. Gilbert, Christian Baute, Frank Calderon, Laurence Lenica, David Tanner, Aurélien Larger, Harold Valentin, Dominique Besnehard and Michel Feller for Bron Studios, Headline Pictures, Turbine Studios, Mother Productions and Mon Voisin Productions; with Sarah Curtis as a producer, Ben Rimmer as a co-producer, and Emma Fleischer as a supervising producer. FROM NOW (Amazon, New!) - Amazon Studios is developing the sci-fi podcast series, which stars Richard Madden and Brian Cox, for television. Rhys Wakefield and William Day Frank are behind the project, which "chronicles the aftermath of their historic reunion when astronaut Edward Fitz's (Madden) spacecraft suddenly reappears in Earth's orbit after having gone missing 35 years earlier - and Edward emerges looking the exact same age as when he left." All four will executive produce alongside QCode's Rob Herting and Dave Henning and Automatik's Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger and Justin Levy. (Deadline.com)
GIRL FROM PLAINVILLE, THE (Hulu) - Colton Ryan will star opposite Elle Fanning in the limited series as Coco, "a sweet, caring young man grappling with anxiety and loneliness in a world he doesn't feel he fits into. When he serendipitously meets Michelle Carter, he sees in her someone who understands his struggles and seems to see the real him. But his relationship with Michelle takes a dark turn as he sets his sights on ending his life and becomes dependent on her support to see it through." (Deadline.com)
GREY'S ANATOMY (ABC) - Co-star Jesse Williams has confirmed he is exiting the series after 12 seasons. "Jesse Williams is an extraordinary artist and activist. Watching his evolution these past 11 years both on screen and off has been a true gift," showrunner Krista Vernoff said in a statement. "Jesse brings so much heart, such depth of care, and so much intelligence to his work. We will miss Jesse terribly and we will miss Jackson Avery - played to perfection for so many years." His final episode airs May 20. (Deadline.com)
INVISIBLE LIFE (HBO, New!) - Harrison David Rivers is developing a TV series based on E. Lynn Harris's novels "Invisible Life," "Just As I Am" and "Abide With Me" which "follow a young Black man's journey of sexual discovery as he realizes he is gay. The coming of age story deals with the then highly controversial issues of bisexuality and AIDS." Proteus E2 Productions' Proteus Spann and Tracey Edmonds will executive produce with Rivers serving as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
PAPER GIRLS (Amazon) - Comedian Ali Wong has signed onto the comic book-turned-TV series as Adult Erin, "the woman twelve-year-old Erin Tieng (Riley Lai Nelet) grows up to become. When the two Erins finally come face-to-face, they are forced to confront the gap between their childhood hopes, dreams, ambitions and the reality of their grown-up life." (Deadline.com)
UNKNOWN (Amazon, New!) - Craig Macneill and Clay Chapman are developing a "psychological horror anthology series" at the streamer that "plunges into the corners of the American landscape, probing the intersection of folklore and our bloody history of true crime. The first season is centered around an estranged brother and sister, who return to the Texas Killing Fields, only to encounter a dark spirit that inhabits the region from their childhood." Amazon Studios and Kilter Films are behind the project with Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED BLUMHOUSE FILM SERIES (Epix) - Erika Alexander, Derek Luke and Sam Trammell are set to star in the franchise's second installment, "American Refugee," which "tells the story of a family seeking shelter in a neighbor's bunker (Trammell), while the American economy is in collapse and the nation under martial law. There they find the danger inside is potentially greater than the danger outside." Peyton Jackson, Zamani Wilder, Jessi Case and Vince Mattis also star in the film, from director Ali LeRoi and writers Allison and Nicolas Buckmelter. Production is underway in New Orleans. UNTITLED LILLY SINGH PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Lilly Singh is attached to star in a comedy series for the streaming service from Kenya Barris's Khalabo Ink Society. Nell Scovell and Diya Mishra are penning the project, details of which were not given. Singh and Polly Auritt of Unicorn Island Productions will executive produce alongside the group. The news comes as Singh's late-night entry for NBC, "A Little Late with Lilly Singh," will come to a close on June 3. She'll however remain in business with Universal Television, signing a first-look deal for unscripted projects. (Deadline.com)
