ANTIQUES ROADSHOW (PBS) - Filming is set to resume on the PBS staple as "producers have put together a Covid-friendly production process to keep everyone safe." (Deadline.com)
CALL ME KAT (FOX) - Creator Darlene Hunt won't return as showrunner for the series' just ordered second season. (Deadline.com)
DOUBLE CROSS/FOR THE LOVE OF JASON/HOUSE DIVIDED, A (ALLBLK) - The streaming service has renewed all three scripted series. (Variety.com)
GIRL IN THE WOODS (Peacock) - The supernatural drama, based on the Crypt TV franchise, has cast Stefanie Scott as Carrie, "a mysterious warrior who escaped from a cult-like colony that guards the world from monsters hidden behind a secret door in the woods"; Misha Osherovich as Nolan, "the child of environmental activists embroiled in the town debate about the safety of the local mine and a bullied teen exploring gender identity"; Sofia Bryant as Tasha, "the child of miners on the opposite side of the environmental debate"; Will Yun Lee as Arthur Deane, "Carrie's former mentor turned foe who is tasked with hunting Carrie down and returning her to the colony so she can face the consequence of her desertion"; Kylie Liya Page as Sara, "Carrie's former best friend and flame from The Colony"; Reed Diamond as Hosea, "the leader of the colony in the woods tasked with protecting its secrets"; and Leonard Roberts as Alex, "Tasha's loving father and leader of the West Pine miners." PORTRAIT OF A THIEF (Netflix, New!) - Grace Li's upcoming novel is being developed for television by the streaming service, "based on a true story of Chinese art vanishing from Western museums. It's a story of friendships, the colonization of art and the complexity of the Chinese American identity." Sugar23's Michael Sugar, Ashley Zalta and Margaux Swerdloff will executive produce alongside Li. The search is underway for a writer. (THR.com)
PRINCE, THE (HBO Max) - The streamer has delayed the launch of the animated series - a satire of British Royals through the eyes of a young Prince George, eldest child of Prince William and Princess Kate - following the death of Prince Philip. (THR.com, 5/9)
PRODIGAL SON (FOX) - The network has canceled the Tom Payne/Michael Sheen-led drama after two seasons. Its de facto finale airs next Tuesday, May 18. (Variety.com)
PUZZLE TALK (Hulu, New!) - Tessa Thompson is developing a conversation-driven series at the streamer which "will bring together a pair of compelling public figures and thought leaders across various fields who may be acquainted - or who may be perfect strangers. Each episode will see the two figures meet and get a new sense of one another through conversation while working together to assemble a jigsaw puzzle." Thompson will executive produce via her Viva Maude banner alongside Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver of Left/Right Productions. (THR.com)
SERPENT QUEEN, THE (Starz) - The Samantha Morton-led drama has cast Amrita Acharia as Aabis, "a member of Catherine's retinue"; Enzo Cilenti as Ruggieri, a "magician and soothsayer"; Barry Atsma as Montmorency, who "serves as its foremost military leader"; Nicholas Burns as Antoine de Bourbon, "the eldest of the Bourbon brothers"; and Danny Kirrane as Louis de Bourbon, "the stronger willed and more intelligent Bourbon brother"; with Charles Dance as Pope Clement; Ludivine Sagnier as Diane; Liv Hill as Young Catherine; Kiruna Stamell as Mathilde; and Colm Meaney as King Francis.
