BIG DOOR PRIZE, THE (Apple TV+, New!) - David West Read has scored a 10-episode order from the streamer for a half-hour comedy based on M.O. Walsh's bestselling novel, which "tells a story about the residents of a small town called Deerfield, who one day discover a magical, destiny-predicting machine in their grocery store." Skydance Television's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost and CJ ENM/Studio Dragon's Miky Lee and Hyun Park are also executive producing. (Deadline.com)
GOSSIP GIRL (HBO Max) - Lyne Renée has scored a recurring role on the reboot series as Helena Bergman, "a cold as ice global real estate magnate and former top model, who is the mother to Otto "Obie" Bergmann (Eli Brown)." (Deadline.com)
ICON (FOX) - Adam Milch has been tapped to spearhead the anthology drama, which "will tell the story of country music's first mother/daughter duo, Naomi and Wynonna Judd. The duo dominated country music in the 1980s and '90s, winning countless awards, selling more than 20 million albums and creating a string of hits. The Judds stopped performing as a duo in 1991 after Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. Wynonna then began a successful solo career. The two occasionally have reunited for special tours, the most recent in 2010." The Judds, Gail Berman, Hend Baghdady and Jason Owen also serve as executive producers. (Deadline.com)
MADE FOR LOVE (HBO Max) - Executive producer Christina Lee has signed a multiple-year overall deal with Warner Bros. Television. There she'll develop new series projects on an exclusive basis. (THR.com)
NEON MACHINE (Amazon, New!) - Jason Kim is developing a potential series at the streamer which "tells the tale of an out-of-left-field K-pop superstar who hits a global chord but might lose it all in the process." Rapper Tablo (real name Daniel Lee) and SB Projects's Scooter Braun, James Shin and Scott Manson are also slated to executive produce. (Deadline.com)
OFFER, THE (Paramount+) - Miles Teller has signed on to star in the limited series based on Oscar-winning producer Al Ruddy's extraordinary, never-revealed experiences of making "The Godfather." He replaces Armie Hammer, who "exited the show in the wake of sexual assault allegations." (Deadline.com)
PEACEMAKER (HBO Max) - Freddie Stroma has been cast in "The Suicide Squad" spin-off as Vigilante, "otherwise known as Adrian Chase, a hand-to-hand combatant, a brilliant marksman and a master of the lariat. He was a New York City DA who sought justice in his own way as his alter ego after his wife and kids were killed by mobsters. Vigilante also has the ability to heal quickly and regenerate his body from injuries as serious as stabbings or gunshot wounds." He replaces Chris Conrad, who is "leaving amicably due to creative differences." (Deadline.com)
SOMEONE OUT THERE (NBC) - Gabrielle Dennis is set to star in the comedy pilot as Chloe, "a self-made, no-nonsense bridal boutique owner and dressmaker who always has known she'll need to outwork everyone around her in order to succeed. But in addition to other goals, Chloe has just added one more thing: someone to open her heart to." She succeeds Aimee Carrero, who was cast in the pre-pandemic incarnation in 2020. In addition, Ally Pankiw will executive produce and direct. (Deadline.com)
