BOYS, THE (Amazon) - Laurie Holden is the latest to recur on the new season as the supe known as Crimson Countess. No other details were given. (Variety.com)
CHICAGO FIRE (NBC) - Hanako Greensmith's Violet Mikami will return as a regular for the series' 10th season. (TVLine.com)
EMERGENCY NYC (Netflix, New!) - Yulari Films has landed a "Lenox Hill" spin-off series at the streamer which will "extend beyond just one hospital and will follow multiple departments within New York City's health system. The in-depth look at one of the city's most complex operations shows the interweaving function of transplant and pediatric trauma units; ambulance and helicopter emergency teams and more." Adi Barash and Ruthie Shatz will direct and executive produce. (Variety.com)
GOOD FIGHT, THE (Paramount+) - CCH Pounder is slated to recur on the current season as Vinetta, "a devout Chicago native who has seen crime increase in her neighborhood and hopes to bring back justice." (TVLine.com)
GOOD GIRLS (NBC) - The network has pulled the plug on the series after four seasons. A contingency plan "to move the show to Netflix also did not pan out," ending its best chance of finding a new home. (Deadline.com)
HALO (Paramount+) - Steven Kane will exit as showrunner following the long-in-the-works series' freshman run. Kane "has been in Budapest now for the past two years and wishes to return stateside for personal reasons," indicated said report. (Variety.com)
MADAME X (HBO Max, New!) - Angela Robinson is developing a potential series at the streamer based on DC Comics heroine Madame Xanadu, "a clairvoyant who uses tarot cards to tell the future, she can levitate objects, teleport and banish minor demons. She is immortal, never aging and unable to be killed in any manner, thanks to her deal with Death." Jeryl Prescott played said role in the short-lived "Swamp Thing" series. Bad Robot Productions' J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson are also on board to executive produce for Warner Bros. Television with the company's Rachel Rusch Rich as a co-executive producer. RAY DONOVAN FEATURE-LENGTH FILM (Showtime) - David Patrick Kelly has scored a role on the follow-up film as Matty Galloway, "a long-time friend of Mickey's (Jon Voight)." (Deadline.com)
REHEARSAL, THE (UNTITLED NATHAN FIELDER PROJECT) (HBO) - Nathan Fielder's latest effort for the pay channel - "set in a world where nothing seems to ever work out as you had hoped, Nathan Fielder gives people the opportunity to rehearse for their own lives" - has been ordered to series. Fielder is writing, directing, starring in and will executive produce alongside Christie Smith and Dan McManus of Rise Management. (Deadline.com)
SERPENT QUEEN, THE (Starz) - Ray Panthaki is bound for the Samantha Morton-led period drama as Charles Guise, "the sinister Catholic Cardinal who loves taking things from the Protestants under the guise of raising funds for war and to fund their families louche lifestyles. Charles is intelligent, politically deft, athletically gifted and devastatingly handsome." (Deadline.com)
STAIRCASE, THE (HBO Max) - Olivia DeJonge has been cast as Caitlin Atwater, "Kathleen Peterson's biological daughter," in the upcoming limited series. (Deadline.com)
WE OWN THIS CITY (HBO) - Darrell Britt-Gibson, Rob Brown, McKinley Belcher III and Larry Mitchell are the latest bound for the limited series from David Simon and George Pelecanos. Britt-Gibson will play Jemell Rayam, "one of the most brazen offenders caught up in the eventual federal corruption case"; with Brown as Maurice Ward, "another plainclothesman with the task force who was among the first to cooperate with prosecutors"; Belcher as Momodu "G Money" Gondo, "an 11-year BPD veteran and member of the task force, implicated in robberies, overtime fraud and other corrupt acts and was involved in protecting a heroin operation run by Antonio "Brill" Shropshire"; and Mitchell as Scott Kilpatrick of Baltimore County's Narcotics Unit, "who with David McDougall began the casework on drug overdoses that set the GTTF probe in motion."
