BATWOMAN (The CW) - Co-star Dougray Scott will not return for the series' third season. "Having Dougray Scott as Jacob Kane on Batwoman was incredibly special for all of us," showrunner Caroline Dries said in a statement. "An actor with his pedigree and reputation elevates any project, and he had great chemistry with his castmates. We loved telling Commander Kane's story for the last two seasons, and we will always leave the door open to have him return. We wish him the very best!" (EW.com, 6/27)
DEXTER LIMITED SERIES (Showtime) - John Lithgow's Trinity Killer is set to make a return trip for the revival series. No details however about his return were given. (Deadline.com)
JOE EXOTIC (Peacock) - Joel Marsh Garland is the latest to be cast in the limited series as James Garretson, "a friend of Joe's and fellow exotic-animal owner who turns FBI informant as Joe's murder-for-hire plot unfolds." (Deadline.com)
JULIA (HBO Max) - Judith Light has been cast in the Julia Child series as Blanche Knopf, "co-founder of the Knopf publishing house. Knopf, who was married to publishing giant Alfred A. Knopf, is widely credited with bringing in Child's hugely successful Mastering the Art of French Cooking." (Deadline.com)
KE NUI ROAD (HBO Max) - Matt Kester's drama for the streamer has been ordered to pilot. The drama, set on the North Shore of Oahu, focuses "on the relationships between an elite crew of heavy-water lifeguards and the teens and young adults they mentor and train in the junior lifeguard program. The junior guards program embodies the beauty, the danger, the struggle, and the spirit of aloha - all centered on the ocean - that is modern Hawaii." John Wells, who is directing, and Erin Jontow of the Warner Bros. Television-based John Wells Productions will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
LUST (HBO Max, New!) - The streamer has given an eight-episode order to the Swedish original series, "billed as an outrageous and painfully honest comedy about four middle-aged women in Stockholm struggling to keep their libidos alive in a sexually frustrating world." Sofia Helin, Anja Lundqvist, Julia Dufvenius and Elin Klinga star in the project, in which "Anette (Helin), Nadia (Lundqvist), Ellen (Dufvenius) and Martina (Klinga) have all been friends since school. When they find out that Anette is conducting a government survey dubiously dubbed "Make Sweden Sexy Again," they are intrigued. Is good sex - or the lack thereof - impacting the health of Swedish women over 40?". Writer Frans Milisic Wiklund (based on an idea by Åsa Kalmér, Dufvenius, Helin and Lundqvist), director Ella Lemhagen and producers Sandra Harms and Karl Fredrik Ulfung are among the auspices for Miso Film. (Deadline.com)
OZARK (Netflix) - Veronica Falcón and Ali Stroker are both bound for the series' final season. Falcón will recur as Camila Elizonndro, "the sister of drug cartel leader Omar Navarro (Felix Solis) whose son Javi Elizonndro (Alfonso Herrera) is scheming to take over his uncle's cartel. Once she acknowledges her long dormant ambition, Camila quietly works behind the scenes to become a formidable player in her family's drug empire." And Stroker will likewise recur as Charles-Ann, "an old friend of Ruth's (Julia Garner) mother who lends her a hand when she is in need of some assistance." (Deadline.com)
WALKING DEAD, THE: WORLD BEYOND (AMC) - Gissette Valentin will recur on the spin-off series as Corporal Diane Pierce, "a smart, driven soldier who commands the respect of someone in a much higher position of authority." (Deadline.com)
WITH LOVE (Amazon) - Andre Royo has signed onto the one-hour romantic comedy series as Santiago's (Rome Flynn) father, Laz Zayas: "He is a proud Afro-Cuban man. He runs a furniture building company with his son and is a master woodworker. He is hardworking, devoted to his family, but has been hiding a secret." (Deadline.com)
