CHICAGO MED (NBC) - Co-stars S. Epatha Merkerson, Oliver Platt, Nick Gehlfuss and Brian Tee have closed new multi-year deals to continue with the series through its eighth season. It's understood original cast member Marlyne Barrett "has one more year on her existing contract and also is set to return" while Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto previously announced their respective exits. DARK HORSE/NATIONAL PARKS/TRIAGE (ABC) - The Alphabet has passed on all three of the aforementioned drama pilots. Medical drama "Triage" was filmed last year while the Kevin Costner-penned "National Parks" was turned in after the upfronts. As for "Dark Horse," the network's import of the Australian series was never filmed however producers Universal Television and A+E Studios plan to shop it elsewhere. Two other projects, "Epic" and "Promised Land," remain in contention. (Variety.com)
DOLORES: THE TRUTH ABOUT THE WANNINKHOF CASE (HBO Max, New!) - The streamer has commissioned a six-part documentary series from Unicorn Content: "Originally convicted of murdering her former partner's daughter, Dolores Vázquez, or Loli to her friends, turned out to be the victim of one of the highest profile Spanish legal disasters in recent history." Miguel Salvat, Hanka Kasteliková, Xelo Montesinos, Víctor García Martín and Toñi Moreno are the executive producers. (Variety.com)
JOE EXOTIC (Peacock) - William Fichtner has signed onto the limited series as Rick Kirkham, "Joe's (John Cameron Mitchell) reality show producer." He replaces Dennis Quaid, "who had to exit the project due to a scheduling conflict." (Deadline.com)
LOOT (Apple TV+) - Joel Kim Booster will star opposite Maya Rudolph in the comedy series as Nicholas, "Molly's loyal assistant." (Deadline.com)
OUR KIND OF PEOPLE (FOX) - Nadine Ellis is the latest addition to the upcoming drama. In a recasting made after the pilot's table read, she'll replace LeToya Luckett as Leah Franklin-Dupont, "a strong, confident, elegant businesswoman who sits at the top of the food chain of the wealthy, long-standing Black elite in Martha's Vineyard. Leah feels the pressure of her position, and a responsibility to give back to the Black community. But when Angela Vaughn arrives and starts to shake things up and threaten her family's legacy, Leah makes it her mission to bar Angela from acceptance into The Bluffs before she tears down everything Leah's family has built." STAIRCASE, THE (HBO Max) - Tim Guinee has scored a role on the limited series as Bill Peterson, "Michael Peterson's (Colin Firth) younger brother and an attorney by training." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED COBURN & WOOTTON PROJECT (NBC) - Costa Ronin has booked a lead role in the Morena Baccarin/Ryan Michelle Bathé-led drama pilot as Sergey Vodianov: "Devilishly charming with a killer smile and an ice-cold sense of humor, he is the love of Elena's life and her partner in crime. Together they spent decades building their criminal empire and dodging danger, leaving a pile of bodies in their wake. When our story begins, everyone believes Sergey is now dead, too.. except Elena." (Deadline.com)
