SK GLOBAL ACQUIRES DEAN KOONTZ #1 BESTSELLING COLLECTION OF "NAMELESS" THRILLERS FOR SERIES ADAPTATION

HENRY GOLDING TO STAR IN AND PRODUCE ALONGSIDE SK GLOBAL

THE MAZUR KAPLAN COMPANY TO CO-PRODUCE

LOS ANGELES, CA, DECEMBER 7, 2021 - SK Global has acquired the rights to #1 New York Times bestselling author Dean Koontz's latest series of 12 propulsive short thrillers for series development with Henry Golding set to star, it was announced by SK Global Co-CEO's John Penotti and Charlie Corwin, and SK Global President of Global Television, Marcy Ross. SK Global will produce in partnership with The Mazur Kaplan Company and Henry Golding's Long House Productions.

The series project is part of the recently announced first-look pact between SK Global and Henry Golding. Nameless will be executive produced by Sidney Kimmel, John Penotti, Charlie Corwin and Marcy Ross and for SK Global, Henry Golding via his Long House Productions label, and Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan for Mazur Kaplan.

The series of short thrillers follow Nameless, a man who - behind a wall of amnesia - can't remember anything. Maybe he can't bear to. He knows only the mission, assigned by a shadowy agency, and travels the country turning predators into prey and dispensing justice when the law fails. As he moves from town to town, the pain of his past can't hold him back, until dark and splintered visions lead him toward his greatest test yet.

The Nameless series, published by Amazon Original Stories, held all top 12 positions on the Kindle Singles Best Seller list during the month after the final story was published in June 2021.

Henry Golding states, "I've long been fascinated by the idea of telling a mystery thriller in an episodic format. But to work with the master of suspense thrillers - Dean Koontz's Nameless is beyond my expectations. To bring this exceptional series to the screen with my partners SK Global and Mazur Kaplan will be an exhilarating journey as we look to bring a fresh and unique take on Dean's characters."

Dean Koontz adds, "I'm delighted to have my material in the hands of such dedicated and accomplished producers, and when I heard the name Henry Golding, I shouted, 'YES!' Mr. Golding will be perfect and unforgettable as Nameless."

SK Global's John Penotti, Charlie Corwin and Marcy Ross state, "Dean Koontz's Nameless is one of those rare page-turning series that immediately hooks audiences and never lets up. The non-stop action and intrigue set a perfect stage for the type of global storytelling we strive for at SK Global, and we're overjoyed for the opportunity to develop this series alongside our exceptional partners Henry Golding and Mazur Kaplan."

The Mazur Kaplan Company co-founders Paula Mazur and Mitchell Kaplan add, "As a books-to-screen company, Mazur Kaplan is delighted about our continuing special relationship with SK Global and joining this collaboration with them and Henry Golding to create a unique, compelling man of mystery: Nameless, based on the superb Dean Koontz series."

The deal was negotiated on behalf of SK Global by their Head of Business & Legal Affairs, Brian Kornreich.

Henry Golding's upcoming credits include Netflix's updated Jane Austen adaptation Persuasion opposite Dakota Johnson playing the nefarious Mr. Elliot. Additionally, Golding continues his run as an action hero with the thriller Assassin's Club, also starring Noomi Rapace, Sam Neil and Daniella Melchoir. Recent credits include Paramount's Snake Eyes, the critically acclaimed BBC film Monsoon helmed by Hong Khao (Lilting) and Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen opposite Matthew McConaughey and Hugh Grant. Golding also hails from the uber successful Crazy Rich Asians of which SK Global was a producer.

Author Dean Koontz's books are published in 38 languages and have sold over 500 million copies to date. Fourteen of his novels have risen to number one on The New York Times hardcover bestseller list, making him one of only a dozen writers ever to have achieved that milestone. Sixteen of his books have risen to the number one position in paperback. His books have also been major bestsellers internationally including in Japan and Sweden. He is represented by Richard Pine and Kimberly Witherspoon of InkWell Management, Angela Cheng Caplan of Cheng Caplan Company, and attorneys Richard Heller, Amy Nickin and Jennifer Batista at Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.

This acquisition is one of many prominent television projects now in active development at SK Global, including a series adaptation of the bestselling novel Billion Dollar Whale developed in partnership with Beau Willimon (House of Cards) and with acclaimed playwright and screenwriter David Henry Hwang adapting; Japanese author Toshikazu Kawaguchi's international bestseller, Before the Coffee Gets Cold, recently optioned for series development in partnership with producer Gail Berman (Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, The Addams Family); and the untitled Thai Cave Rescue limited series for Netflix currently filming in Thailand.

Additionally as part of their first look deal, SK Global and Mazur Kaplan are developing acclaimed Ghanaian writer and academic Peace Adzo Medie's novel His Only Wife, with Nana Mensah (Queen of Glory) adapting; best-selling authors Brad Meltzer and Josh Mensch's non-fiction hit The Lincoln Conspiracy: The Secret Plot to Kill America's 16th President-and Why It Failed, with Nia DaCosta (Candyman, Captain Marvel 2) directing and co-producing and Camilla Blackett (New Girl, Newsroom) writing; and award-winning author Tim Johnston's mystery, The Current, with Emmy nominated writer Miki Johnson (Ozark, Ray Donovan) adapting and filmmaker and screenwriter Susanna Fogel (The Flight Attendant, Booksmart) directing.
