ALL AMERICAN: HOMECOMING (The CW) - Mitchell Edwards and Rhoyle Ivy King are both bound for the spin-off series. Edwards will join the cast as Cam Watkins, reprising his role from the parent series; while King will recur as Nathaniel, "the non-binary, gender-fluid personification of fly AF." (Deadline.com)
AMERICAN ASSASSIN (Peacock, New!) - Adam Perlman is developing a "two-hander true crime anthology that dives into the singular minds of American presidents and the people who tried to knock them from their perch" at the streamer and Universal Content Productions. NBC News staple Chuck Todd is also attached to executive producing the project, the first season of which "will tackle a lesser known killing: that of James Garfield, the 20th president of the United States, by Charles J. Guiteau in 1881." (THR.com)
BIG DOOR PRIZE, THE (Apple TV+) - The Chris O'Dowd-led comedy series has cast Gabrielle Dennis as Cass, who "has been with Dusty (O'Dowd) since high school and has maintained a veneer of contentedness in her quiet domestic life, but her pleasant persona is about to crack and fissure in an earthquake of self-discovery"; Damon Gupton as Father Rueben, "the trusted school chaplain at Deerfield High"; Josh Segarra as Giorgio, "as a former hockey player, he's a local celebrity, the owner of a combination Italian restaurant and sports center and widely recognized as Deerfield's most eligible bachelor"; and Sammy Fourlas as Jacob, "a sweet-natured, sensitive soul who works at the local general store and is struggling after the death of his identical twin brother." CLUBHOUSE (The CW, New!) - Christina de Leon has sold a murder mystery drama to the netlet in which "when a popular podcast features the grisly unsolved murder that took place in their childhood clubhouse, four young women are pulled back into each other's lives just in time for the killer to strike again." Frolic Media's Lisa Berger and Sarah Penna are executive producing for CBS Studios with de Leon as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
FIRST SHOT, THE (HBO) - Charles Randolph has signed on to write and executive produce the limited series, which tells the story of the global COVID-19 vaccine race. Additionally, Gregory Zuckerman, author of "A Shot to Save the World: The Inside Story of the Life-or-Death Race for a COVID-19 Vaccine," has likewise been added as an executive producer. Randolph and Zuckerman join the previously announced Adam McKay, Todd Schulman and Brendan Borrell. (Deadline.com)
IDOL OF THE PEOPLE, THE (Netflix, New!) - Jaime Camil is attached to star as Vicente "Chente" Fernandez in a series about the late Colombian music icon's life. No other auspices were given. Caracol TV is producing the project, which Netflix will distribute outside of Colombia. (Deadline.com)
INCIDENT, THE (FOX, New!) - Jesse Lasky is spearheading a domestic take on the Spanish format "El Incidente" at the network, "set in a small California coastal town that is rocked when its residents begin experiencing inexplicable miracles in the wake of a powerful storm. The potential series explores the baggage and burdens that come with miracles as a young sheriff begins to explore what happens as she hopes to experience a miracle, too." Bridgeworks Entertainment Group's George Salinas and Boardwalk Entertainment Group's Gary Randall are also set to executive produce. (THR.com)
LEGACIES (The CW) - Original cast member Kalyee Bryant has confirmed her departure from the series following tonight's episode. Additionally, Zane Phillips has been tapped to recur as Ben, "a character trapped between his family and his friends, his present and his past, who must choose one over the other." NOGGIN (Disney+, New!) - Scott Weinger has sold a small screen take on John Corey Whaley's book of the same name to Disney Branded Television: "The series billed as part Fault in Our Stars and part coming-of-age science-fiction will follow Travis Coates, a leukemia survivor and successful participant of a head-onto-somebody-else's-donor-body transplant. At 16, just before Travis died, he decided to have his head cryogenically frozen in the hope that future medical technology would allow his head to receive a donor body, such that he could live a full and healthy life. What he and his family didn't account for was that it wouldn't take very long. Now, Travis has a good head - on someone else's shoulders." Sad Unicorn's Randall Einhorn and Jeremy Stern will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
OFFER, THE (Paramount+) - Executive producer Nikki Toscano has signed an overall deal with the limited series' producer Paramount Television Studios. (Deadline.com)
PEACHTREE BLUFF (NBC, New!) - Kristy Woodson Harvey's series of novels is being developed for TV by the network. Sheryl J. Anderson and Caron Tschampion will co-write the project alongside Woodson Harvey, which is "centered around Ansley Murphy, who when her three adult daughters run to her in their charming seaside hometown of Peachtree Bluff, Ga., trying to escape problems that are shattering their personal lives, she's delighted to help, until their presence exposes a secret that has the potential to tear them apart and reshape their very definition of what it means to be a family." Universal Television is behind the hour with Juniper Place Productions' Jeffrey Kramer and Jenna Nicholson executive producing alongside Anderson. Woodson Harvey and Tschampion are co-executive producers. (Deadline.com)
PLAYERS (Paramount+) - Alexa Mansour will recur on the esports comedy series as Emma, "a popular streamer who has a true love and appreciation for the game as well as its players." (Deadline.com)
UNTITLED FRANK SINATRA PROJECT (Netflix, New!) - Writer/director Bill Condon has set up "the definitive bio-series on the iconic singer, actor, producer and quintessential celebrity of 20th Century America" at the streamer. The project will feature Frank Sinatra's music and performances with his daughter, Tina Sinatra, executive producing alongside Greg Yolen, Bob Finkelstein, Jack Morrissey, Michele Anthony, Bruce Resnikoff and David Blackman for Lionsgate Television, Polygram Entertainment and Frank Sinatra Enterprises.
