NEW YORK, NY - January 20, 2022 - FYI and The HISTORY Channel today announced the broadcast schedule for its live coverage of Barrett-Jackson's 2022 Scottsdale Auction. Barrett-Jackson LIVE: Scottsdale celebrates 50 years of the World's Greatest Collector Car Auctions, with 38 hours of live coverage, premiering January 24 on FYI and culminating January 29 with six hours of evening coverage on The HISTORY Channel. This year's Scottsdale auction features one of the most spectacular collector car dockets ever, along with celebrity appearances and charitable auctions.
The coverage of this year's No Reserve auction will see over 1,800 vehicles cross the auction block. Some of the highlights and most sought-after vehicles on the docket include, a 2014 McLaren P1, the world's first hybrid supercar, a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder, one of only 918 hybrid hypercars produced, and a highly desirable 2004 Porsche Carrera GT. Several spectacular Shelby vehicles and big block American muscle cars will also be crossing the auction block, including a 1967 Shelby Cobra 427 CSX 3356, 1962 Shelby Cobra CSX 2032 famously referred to as the "Lance Reventlow Cobra" and an original "survivor" 1970 Plymouth HEMI Superbird with just over 6,000 miles.
In addition to the spectacular selection of collector vehicles available for purchase, the auction will be attended by numerous celebrity icons, including superstars such as Pitbull and Bret Michaels that will be in attendance in support of charitable causes. Pitbull will accompany a 2022 Karma GS-6 being auctioned to benefit The SLAM Foundation and Selfless Love Foundation, organizations focused on bettering the lives of underserved youth. Bret Michaels will be in attendance to auction his personal 2007 Bentley Continental GT in support of the Life Rocks Foundation, and to support the auction of a 1973 DeTomaso Pantera benefiting the Barrow Neurological Foundation. Danny Koker of Counting Cars on The HISTORY Channel will also be in attendance to sell a rare 1999 Shelby Series 1 Roadster.
