She maintains a close (though slightly strained) relationship with older sister/onetime singing partner Lexi (Aly), who has since gone on to superstardom." (TVLine.com)
I'M A VIRGO (Amazon) - Brett Gray, Kara Young, Allius Barnes, Olivia Washington, Mike Epps and Carmen Ejogo are all bound for the Jharrel Jerome-led absurdist dark comedy series. LA BREA (NBC) - The show's sophomore run will reportedly expand to 14 total episodes (from 10 in season one) with an eye towards spliting the season into two halves. (TVLine.com)
L.A. LAW (ABC) - Juliana Harkavy has been cast in the revival series pilot as Yvette Cabrera, "a savvy attorney and 'legal badass' who is pitted against Alana (Hari Nef) in an unexpectedly controversial case that makes headlines. Their courtroom battle is complicated by the fact that they used to be lovers. The unresolved issues of their past relationship cause a lot of friction between these two, but there's also undeniable sexual chemistry as well. When Yvette is appointed a new partner in Alana's law firm, their relationship may prove increasingly complicated, to say the least." (Deadline.com)
SUPERFAN (CBS, New!) - The Eye has ordered a new unscripted series from Raquel Productions: "Superfan is a musical spectacle disguised as a game show that will feature several rounds of play where fans will have the ability to advance to a final round for the chance to prove they are the ultimate fan. Each episode will name one superfan who will win the ultimate experience with the featured artist." Jodi Roth, Keltie Knight and Jack Martin are the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
VIENNA BLOOD (PBS) - The series has been renewed for a third season by its commissioning broadcasters ORF in Austria and ZDF in Germany. (THR.com)
WENDY WILLIAMS SHOW, THE (Syndication) - Debmar-Mercury has confirmed the longtime syndicated talk show will be replaced by "Sherri," hosted by Sherri Shepherd, in the fall. Williams has been sidelined by health issues for the duration of the current 13th season. Howard Bragman, a spokesperson for Williams, released a statement saying: "It's been a challenging time for Wendy as she deals with her health issues. She is incredibly grateful to Debmar-Mercury, to Sherri and everybody else who has supported the show through this time. She, more than anyone, understands the reality of syndicated television - you can't go to the marketplace and sell a show that's The Maybe Wendy Show. She understands why this decision was made from a business point of view, and she has been assured by Debmar-Mercury that should her health get to a point where she can host again and should her desire be that she hosts again that she would be back on TV at that time." Shepherd, Jawn Murray and David Perler will executive produce "Sherri." (Deadline.com)
