ALICE (HBO Max, New!) - Victor Fresco and Alexandra Petri have sold a half-hour comedy series to the streamer based on Stacy A. Cordery's book "Alice: Alice Roosevelt Longworth from White House Princess to Washington Power Broker," about former First Daughter Alice Roosevelt Longworth: "Teddy Roosevelt is suddenly thrust into the presidency, bringing his seventeen-year-old daughter into the spotlight. The country has never seen anyone like Alice Roosevelt in the White House: a whip-smart, out-of-control teenager who races cars, parties unchaperoned with boys, and dares to speak her mind. Teddy's at wits' end, "I can be Alice's father, or I can be president of the United States. I cannot do both." But the country loves her." Fresco, Tracy Katsky, Aaron Kaplan and Melanie Frankel are the executive producers for KatCo and Kapital Entertainment with Petri as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
BOB (HEARTS) ABISHOLA/NEIGHBORHOOD, THE (CBS) - Cedric the Entertainer and Tichina Arnold will drop by "Bob Hearts Abishola" as their "The Neighborhood" characters as Calvin and Tina on the show's March 14 episode. No other specifics about their appearance was given. Gina Yashere will in turn visit an upcoming episode of "The Neighborhood," however not as her "Bob Hearts Abishola" character Kemi. She'll instead play a party planner named Chika. (TVLine.com)
IRONHEART (Disney+) - Lyric Ross is bound for the Marvel Studios series as the best friend of Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams. No other details were given. (THR.com)
LAW & ORDER: ORGANIZED CRIME (NBC) - Ilene Chaiken is stepping down as showrunner of the spin-off series. She'll be succeeded by co-executive producer Barry O'Brien for the remainder of the series' second season. (Deadline.com)
MANHUNT (Apple TV+) - Anthony Boyle and Lovie Simone have both landed roles on the limited series about the President Lincoln's assassination. Simone will play Mary Simms, "a former slave of the doctor who treated assassin John Wilkes Booth's (Boyle) injury and gave him safe harbor after his crime." Tobias Menzies as previously announced plays Edwin Stanton, "Lincoln's War Secretary and friend, who was driven nearly to madness by the need to catch Booth and to carry out Lincoln's legacy." OUTLANDER PREQUEL SERIES (Starz, New!) - Matthew B. Roberts is spearheading a potential prequel series for the veteran franchise, based on the novels by Diana Gabaldon. No details were given about the project, other than "a writers' room is currently being assembled with an eye to begin work in the coming weeks." Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis of Tall Ship Productions will also executive produce for Sony Pictures Television. (Variety.com)
WALKER: INDEPENDENCE (The CW) - Justin Johnson Cortez is the first to be cast in the prequel series pilot as Calian: "A member of an Indigenous scouting party outside Independence, Calian speaks fluent English, and has mixed feelings about the influx of the white settlers out West. Calian is curious to their innovations, their music, their culture but remains wary about losing his tribal lands. After spotting Abby half-dead in the brush, Calian saves her and takes her to the outskirts of Independence - he knows better than to walk into town, escorting a white woman." (Deadline.com)
WASHINGTON BLACK (Hulu) - Charles Dance has signed onto the upcoming drama as James Wilde, "the patriarch of a sugar plantation in 19th century Barbados." (THR.com)
