AVENUE 5 (HBO) - The pay channel has not extended options on the principal cast - which includes Hugh Laurie, Josh Gad, Zach Woods, Rebecca Front, Suzy Nakamura, Lenora Crichlow, Nikki Amuka-Bird and Ethan Phillips - likely meaning the show's long-delayed second season will be its last. It's understood said run is targeted for the fall, more than two years since its freshman run concluded. (Deadline.com)
BLACKLIST, THE (NBC) - Amir Arison's Aram Mojtabi and Laura Sohn's Alina Park have both confirmed their departures from the series following the events of tonight's season finale. Arison however may return as a guest star during the 10th season. (Deadline.com)
HANDMAID'S TALE, THE (Hulu) - Emmy winner Alexis Bledel, who plays Emily/Ofglen, won't return for the show's fifth season. "After much thought, I felt I had to step away from 'The Handmaid's Tale' at this time. I am forever grateful to Bruce Miller for writing such truthful and resonant scenes for Emily, and to Hulu, MGM, the cast and crew for their support," the actress said in a statement to the publication. KAOS (Netflix) - Aurora Perrineau is the first to be cast in Charlie Covell's long-in-the-works series for the streamer as Riddy, a character tied to the story of Orpheus. Georgi Banks Davies is attached to direct for All3 Productions, Brightstar, All3Media and Sister Pictures with Nina Lederman, Tanya Seghatchian, John Woodward, and Jane Featherstone also among the executive producers. (Deadline.com)
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE (FOX) - Incoming judge Matthew Morrison is departing the new season after just four episodes. "Having the opportunity to be a judge on So You Think You Can Dance was an incredible honor for me. Therefore, it is my deepest regret to inform you that I will be leaving the show," he said in a statement to the publication. "After filming the audition rounds for the show and completing the selection of the 12 finalists, I did not follow competition production protocols, preventing me from being able to judge the competition fairly. I cannot apologize enough to all involved and I will be watching alongside you all on what I know will be one of the best seasons yet." (UsMagazine.com)
