BLACK LADY SKETCH SHOW, A (HBO) - Robin Thede has signed a new three-year overall deal with the network, where she'll create new series projects for HBO, HBO Max and Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
CHURCH GIRLS (HBO Max, New!) - Megan Stalter is attached to write and star in a new semi-autobiographical comedy at the streamer which "follows Beth Parker, played by Stalter, a 20-year-old Christian closeted lesbian as she wrestles with her sexuality, and faith in God, while entering adulthood in suburban Ohio." Gabe Liedman and Mackenzie Roussos will also executive produce for Range Media Partners, Brillstein Entertainment Partners and A24. (Deadline.com)
DEMASCUS (AMC) - Solvan "Slick" Naim has been tapped to direct the first two episodes of the series as well as executive produce. (Deadline.com)
DISQUIET (AMC, New!) - Shoshannah Stern has landed a new drama at the company which "follows Cassie Edwards, a Certified Deaf Interpreter (CDI), who is called back home to assist in a case involving the mysterious death of the former head of the school for the Deaf she herself attended. A former student of the school is the only witness and Cassie may be the only one who is able to understand him, leading her deeper into the case and forcing her to confront her own past." Alexandra Cunningham and Jessica Rhoades will also executive produce for Pacesetter Productions, AMC Studios and UCP with Rachel Polan as a co-executive producer. (Deadline.com)
DRIVER, THE (AMC) - Paula Malcomson will star opposite Giancarlo Esposito in the upcoming drama as Ros. No other details were given. (Deadline.com)
GAME OF THRONES (HBO) - George R.R. Martin took to his blog with updates on the latest live-action spin-off series "Ten Thousand Ships" with Amanda Segel; "Sea Snake" with Bruno Heller; "Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" with Steve Conrad; and the recently revealed "Snow" starring Kit Harington: "All four of these successor shows are still in the script stage. Outlines and treatments have been written and approved, scripts have been written, notes have been given, second and third drafts have been written. So far, that's all. This is the way television works. Please note: nothing has been green lit yet, and there is no guarantee when or if it will be... on any of these shows. The likelihood of all four series getting on the air... well, I'd love it, but that's not the way it works, usually." (GeorgeRRMartin.com)
GORDITA CHRONICLES (HBO Max) - Executive producer Brigitte Muñoz-Liebowitz has signed a new overall deal with Sony Pictures Television, home to the newly launched comedy series. (Deadline.com)
JAKE CHANG (The CW, New!) - Jake Chang is the latest Archie Comics character being eyed for a small screen take at the network. He'll make his comics debut next month. Writer Oanh Ly and writer-director Viet Nguyen are behind the project, about "an Asian-American–led mystery following a 16-year-old private investigator as he navigates the racially and socioeconomically diverse worlds of his ever-gentrifying home of Chinatown, and the elite private high school he attends. The show will blend soapy teen drama with the neon noir aesthetic, all while flipping nearly every Asian stereotype - honor, martial arts, destiny, lineage, parental sacrifice - on its head." Archie Studios' Jon Goldwater and 3AD's Daniel Dae Kim and John Cheng will also executive produce for Warner Bros. Television. (Deadline.com)
LAST DAYS OF THE SPACE AGE (Disney+) - Sam Delich is set to recur on the upcoming series in a yet-to-be-revealed role, believed to be the villain of the piece. (Deadline.com)
MISSING, THE (Peacock) - Constance Zimmer, Chris Sullivan, Ben Shenkman, Rafael Cebrián and Danielle Davenport will recur on David E. Kelley's upcoming crime drama as Anna, Paul Serra, Rabbi Cermak, Brad Holt, and Marcie, respectively. No other details were given. (Variety.com)
MORNING SHOW, THE (Apple TV+) - Director/executive producer Mimi Leder has signed a multi-year, overall deal with the streamer which includes a first-look on streaming features. (Deadline.com)
ROOKIE, THE: FEDS (ABC) - James Lesure is the latest to join the cast of the spin-off series as Carter Hope: "Conservative and a by-the-book traditionalist, Carter's a model FBI agent who joined the bureau after a successful career as a lawyer in the Justice Department. Now he's got the most challenging task of his career: training the outspoken and outside-the-box rookie Clark, whose style will be a challenge to his painfully won beliefs." (Deadline.com)
SEAL TEAM (Paramount+) - Raffi Barsoumian has joined the cast of the upcoming sixth season as Omar, "a Senior Chief with fifteen years of experience as a SEAL. The son of Syrian immigrants, Omar has a deep understanding of the Middle East, and calls upon that knowledge to help navigate missions in the region." (Deadline.com)
THREE-BODY PROBLEM, THE (Netflix) - Jonathan Pryce, Rosalind Chao, Ben Schnetzer and Eve Ridley have all joined the cast of the streamer's Liu Cixin adaptation. No details about their roles were given. (THR.com)
