ALAN WAKE (AMC) - Jon Jashni and Jeff Ludwig have signed onto the video game adaptation as executive producer and producer, respectively. Additionally, Peter Calloway is no longer attached as showrunner and the search is underway for a replacement. Tim Carter and Tomas Harlan's Contradiction Films is behind the project with the game's creator Sam Lake, likewise executive producing. (Variety.com)
HORROR OF DOLORES ROACH, THE (Amazon) - The Justina Machado-led comedy series has cast Marc Maron as Gideon Pearlman, "Luis and Dolores' Long Island-based landlord who is the new owner of the building where they reside and is the home of Empanada Loca"; Jean Yoon as Joy, "who has owned the laundromat next door to Empanada Loca for nine years and becomes Dolores' frequent customer"; Judy Reyes as Marcie, who "runs the neighborhood weed business and at first offers Dolores an opportunity to work for her, but when Dolores declines quickly becomes her nemesis"; and Jeffery Self as Caleb, "an "up-and-coming influencer"/podcaster living in the Empanada Loca building"; all recurring roles. JUSTIFIED: CITY PRIMEVAL (FX) - Ravi Patel will recur on the Timothy Olyphant-led limited series as Rick Newley. No other details were given. Aunjanue Ellis, Boyd Holbrook, Adelaide Clemens, Vondie Curtis Hall, Marin Ireland, Victor Williams, and Norbert Leo Butz also star. (Deadline.com)
KAOS (Netflix) - Charlie Covell's mythological eight-episode epic has cast Hugh Grant (Zeus), Janet McTeer (Hera), Cliff Curtis (Poseidon), David Thewlis (Hades), Killian Scott (Orpheus), Misia Butler (Caneus), Leila Farzad (Ari), Nabhaan Rizwan (Dionysus), Rakie Ayola and Stanley Townsend alongside the previously announced Aurora Perrineau (Riddy). Billie Piper is also slated to appear in a cameo. Ayola and Townsend's roles were not detailed. Sister and Anthem are behind the project with director Georgi Banks-Davies, Jane Featherstone, Chris Fry and Nina Lederman also executive producing and Katie Carpenter, Harry Munday and Michael Eagle-Hodgson producing. LOVESICK (New!) - Rashida Jones and Will McCormack are developing a domestic take on Tom Edge's U.K. romantic comedy series, about "a group of English friends sharing a house in the West End of Glasgow and their romantic lives." The project is set up at Lionsgate Television where the duo's Le Train Train Productions have signed a first-look deal. A search for a writer is underway. Edge, Petra Fried, Ed Macdonald, Andy Baker of Clerkenwell Films and Angie Stephenson of BBC Studios will also executive produce. (Deadline.com)
MR. AND MRS. SMITH (Amazon) - Michaela Coel, John Turturro, and Paul Dano have been cast opposite Donald Glover and Maya Erskine in the series adaptation. No details about their roles were given. (Variety.com)
PLATONIC (Apple TV+) - The Rose Byrne/Seth Rogen-led comedy series has tapped Alisha Wainwright, Guy Branum, Janet Varney, Emily Kimball and Vinny Thomas to recur. Wainwright portrays Audrey, "Will's (Rogen) ex-wife"; with Branum as Stewart, "Charlie's confidante and a partner at the law firm where he works"; Varney as Vanessa, "one of Charlie's colleagues"; Kimball as Peyton, "one of Will's (Rogen) romantic interests"; and Thomas as Omar, "a young assistant brewer at Will's brewery." Luke Macfarlane, Tre Hale, Carla Gallo and Andrew Lopez also star. (Deadline.com)

POWER BOOK IV: FORCE (Starz) - Carmela Zumbado, Miriam A. Hyman, Manuel Eduardo Ramierz and Adrienne Walker have all joined the cast of the show's second season. Zumbado will play Mireya Garcia ("smart, direct with a great sense of humor"); with Hyman as US Attorney Stacy Marks ("from Chicago's South Side and first worked as a public defender before earning her way into the U.S. Attorney's Office"); Ramirez as Miguel Garcia ("a mean, violent, and domineering alpha male"); and Walker as Shanti "Showstopper" Page ("a prized ex-professional boxer that now runs her own gym"). TRUST (HBO, New!) - Two-time Emmy winner Kate Winslet is attached to star in a limited series adaptation of Hernan Diaz's 2022 novel: "The book is about a wealthy financier who is dissatisfied by a novel based on his life and his wife's portrayal, so he asks a secretary to ghostwrite his memoir and set the record straight. The secretary, however, grows uncomfortably aware that he is rewriting history - and his wife's place in it. Told in four different voices and genres, Trust is a narrative puzzle that subverts the notion of truth and who gets to define it." Both Winslet and Diaz will executive produce. (Deadline.com)
TWIN TERRITORIES (Amazon, New!) - Morgan Freeman and Lori McCreary's Revelations Entertainment has set up a potential drama at the streamer based on the life of famed lawman Bass Reeves: "Twin Territories will follow America's #1 lawman as he and the brash Irishman Chauncey Lee are faced with the almost impossible task of imposing the rule of law in the most dangerous place on earth, contending with outlaw bandits so bold they post their own wanted posters; thriving native cultures pushed to the brink; and hordes of illegal settlers with nothing to lose, in a titanic battle for the future of a state, and a nation. The show will examine the methods Reeves used to bring justice to the Indian Territories, and the pivotal role he played in birthing the state of Oklahoma." Ben Watkins and Josef Sawyer are behind the project, which is based on a novel by Art T. Burton. Malcolm Spellman, Leonard Chang, James Pickens Jr. and Scott Frank are also on board to executive produce with two backup scripts and a series format also completed. (Deadline.com)
UP HERE (Hulu) - The Mae Whitman/Carlos Valdes-led musical romantic comedy has cast Katie Finneran as Joan, "the unfailingly proper, appearance-fixated mother of Lindsay"; John Hodgman as Tom, "Lindsay's danger-obsessed father and chief coroner of Chittenden County, Va."; Andréa Burns as Rosie, "Miguel's mother"; Sophia Hammons as Celeste, "Lindsay's rule-following, risk averse best friend from seventh grade"; and Emilia Suárez as Renee, "the queen bee of Miguel's high school." Recurring are George Hampe as Ned, "Lindsay's sweet, small town Vermont pediatric dentist boyfriend"; Julia McDermott as Fiona, "Miguel's sharp and acerbic video game project manager girlfriend"; Scott Porter as Orson, "the supremely self-confident and self-important private equity manager who destroyed Miguel's life"; Ayumi Patterson as Marta, "Lindsay's sophisticated and not entirely trustworthy New York City roommate"; and Brian Stokes Mitchell as Ted aka Mr. McGooch, "a beloved author and illustrator, whose classic children's books were a fixture of Lindsay's youth."
