BAD NEWS BEARS, THE (CBS, New!) - Corey Nickerson is developing a new TV take on the franchise at the Eye, about "a down-on-her-luck divorced mom coaches a team of misfits in a cutthroat Little League." The single-camera project is set up at CBS Studios with Aaron Kaplan, Melanie Frankel and Wendi Trilling also executive producing for Kapital Entertainment and TrillTV. (Deadline.com)
BASED ON A TRUE STORY (Peacock) - Oscar and Emmy Award-nominee Alex Buono has been tapped to helm the debut installment of the series as well as serve as its producing director. (Deadline.com)
CHAD (Roku) - The streaming service has acquired the Nasim Pedrad-led comedy series, which "was scrapped as part of the cost-cutting measures at Warner Bros. Discovery cable network TBS" earlier this year. The deal includes the yet-to-premiere second season as well as the non-exclusive rights to its first season. No premiere date was given. (Deadline.com)
FEUD (FX) - Newcomer Ella Beatty has been cast in the new season as Kerry O'Shea, "the daughter of John O'Shea, Truman's longtime lover." (Deadline.com)
GERMAN HOUSE (Disney+, New!) - Filming is underway in Poland on a five-part German adaptation of Annette Hess's novel for the streaming service, about "a young interpreter who is confronted with the shocking truth of the Holocaust during her work at the first Auschwitz trial in 1963." Isa Prahl and Randa Chahoud are directing from scripts by Hess with Katharina Stark, Anke Engelke, Iris Berben, Hans-Jochen Wagner and Ricarda Seifried among the principal cast. GREEN LANTERN (HBO Max) - Seth Grahame-Smith has exited the long-in-the-works TV series "after weathering a number of regime changes at HBO Max." It's understood despite all eight episodes being written, the streamer will proceed with a new incarnation focusing on the John Stewart character, whom producers were told was off limits at the time. The previous take was set to feature various Lanterns, including Finn Wittrock as Guy Gardner and Jeremy Irvine as Alan Scott. In any case, Warner Bros. Television-based Berlanti Productions remains attached to produce the project. (THR.com)
INTERIOR CHINATOWN (Hulu) - Ronny Chieng and Chloe Bennet have both been cast in the Jimmy O. Yang-led series. Chieng will play Fatty Choi, "Willis's best friend whose passions include video games and malted beverages." And Bennet will play Detective Lana Lee, "a new lead making her debut appearance in the procedural cop show Black & White. Lana brings a new energy to the series' reliable but overworked premise." (Deadline.com)
IRONHEART (Disney+) - Cree Summer has scored a role on the Marvel Studios series while Sacha Baron Cohen has also reportedly been tipped for a role. (Deadline.com)
LINCOLN LAWYER, THE (Netflix) - Lana Parrilla is bound for the show's sophomore run as Lisa Trammell, "a beloved chef and community advocate struggling to keep her restaurant afloat as a predatory real estate developer threatens the neighborhood around her." (Deadline.com)
NANCY DREW (The CW) - The series will sign off after its upcoming fourth season. "We are so honored and proud to have brought Nancy Drew's iconic determination, individuality and resilience to life in a years-long collaboration with incredible creative talents in front of the camera, behind the scenes and among our studio and network partners," Noga Landau and Melinda Hsu Taylor said in a statement. "Our hearts are full of gratitude, knowing that we are able to bring this chapter to a close with intentionality, inclusivity and kindness - and of course with plenty of sleuthing twists, supernatural scares and star-crossed romance along the way. We are especially indebted to our wonderful fan community, whose connection with our themes and stories has meant the world to us. Season 4 will be a worthy and resonant payoff for their continued love and support." (Deadline.com)
ROOKIE, THE: FEDS (ABC) - Donna Mills will drop by the spin-off series as "an extremely rich cosmetic company owner who is a murder suspect." (Variety.com)
SUNNY (Apple TV+) - The Rashida Jones-led comedy series has cast Joanna Sotomura as Sunny, "a bright, young, chipper and emotionally sophisticated robot with human emotions designed to please and do good"; annie the clumsy as Mixxy, "a new friend of Suzie and an aspiring mixologist.
