AMERICAN NINJA WARRIOR (NBC) - The network has formally renewed the competition series through its 16th season. Season 15 is due this summer. (Deadline.com)
APPLES NEVER FALL (Peacock) - Jeanine Serralles and Dylan Thuraisingham have both scored roles on the Liane Moriarty adaptation. Serralles will play Elena Camacho: "When Joy Delaney (Annette Bening) goes missing, Detective Elena Camacho runs lead on the case. But she quickly grows frustrated - and suspicious - when Joy's own family creates roadblocks in her investigation. Her pursuit of answers takes her deeper into her own struggles to balance the demands of motherhood and her job." And Thuraisingham is Ethan Remy: "Detective Ethan Remy is a devoted partner to his mentor, Detective Elena Camacho. They may disagree on what exactly happened to Joy Delaney, but they both know that no one's telling them the truth." (Variety.com)
GROWN-ISH (Freeform) - The cable channel will wrap the series after its upcoming two-part sixth season. Part one is due this summer with the conclusion due in 2024. Lil Yachty, Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals are among the featured guest stars. "We've spent nearly a decade telling our stories through the -ish series and to say it has been an amazing journey would be an understatement. To be able to watch Yara, Marcus and our entire grown-ish family grow up in front of (and in many ways alongside) us over these past several years has been both a joy and an honor. From the stories we've told to the talent we've fostered and, most importantly, the memories made, I could not be more proud of everything we've accomplished and the -ish family I've been a part of," creator Kenya Barris said in a statement. HOTEL COCAINE (MGM+) - Yul Vazquez has scored a role on the upcoming crime thriller as Nestor Cabal, "Roman Compte's (Danny Pino) brother and one of the biggest suppliers of cocaine to a coke-hungry Miami population. He's dangerous, funny, wily, and seeking reunion with his long-lost brother." (Deadline.com)
INSOMNIA (Paramount+, New!) - Sarah Pinborough's sleep deprivation thriller novel is set to be the focus of a drama series at the streamer. Pinborough will adapt the project for the screen, "telling the story of successful career woman Emma Averill, who fears she is losing her mind after suffering from sleep deprivation two weeks before turning 40." Andy Harries, Jessica Burdett and Tim Bricknell are executive producing for Left Bank Pictures with Charlotte Essex producing. Filming begins later this year. (Deadline.com)
ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING (Hulu) - Don Darryl Rivera, Allison Guinn and Gerald Caesar are the latest set to recur on the upcoming third season. No details about their roles however were released. (Deadline.com)
QUEEN OF FLOW (Peacock, New!) - Singer and actress Becky G is in early negotiations to star in a domestic take on the Colombian telenovela at the streamer, "a revenge tale/music drama about a young singer-songwriter named Yeimi - the role Becky G is in talks for - who rises to fame in the music world and finds a star-crossed love with the superstar scion of a powerful family. But on her rise to the top, dark secrets are discovered about both Yeimi and the family she's made her own that set them on a collision course towards a reckoning that could destroy them all." Jorge Reyes is penning the script for Caracol Television, Tucker Tooley Entertainment, Major Content, Wild Sheep Content, Westbrook Studios and Universal Television with Terence Carter, David Boorstein, Tucker Tooley, Jay Weisleder, Eli Shibley, Paulette Bensussen and Darah Wagner Boaz and Lisette Osorio also executive producing. SINKING SPRING (Apple TV+) - Kieu Chinh is the latest addition to the Brian Tyree Henry-led drama as "a crime family matriarch." The series "follows long-time Philly friends and delinquents who pose as DEA agents to rob an unknown house in the countryside, only to have their small-time grift become a life-and-death enterprise, as they unwittingly reveal and unravel the biggest hidden narcotics corridor on the Eastern seaboard." SNOWFALL (FX) - Gail Bean's Wanda Bell is reportedly the focus of a proposed spin-off of the veteran drama, which is wrapping its run after six seasons. The project is billed as "a continuation of the original story set in 1990s Los Angeles as South Central transitions out of the crack era into the gangster rap business, with areas heavily infested by gangs led by the Bloods and Crips." Malcolm Spellman is behind the project with Dave Andron, Trevor Engelson, Michael London, Tommy Schlamme and Julie DeJoie executive producing for FX Productions, Groundswell Productions, Shoe Money Productions and Underground Films. John Singleton (posthumously), Eric Amadio and Evan Silverberg are also expected to receive credits. (Deadline.com)
ST. DENIS MEDICAL (NBC) - Tony winner David Alan Grier is set to star opposite Wendy McLendon-Covey in the comedy pilot as Ron, "a defeated divorcee and Emergency Department doctor who has accepted that the thrill is gone." (Deadline.com)
WONDER MAN (Disney+) - Demetrius Grosse has been tapped to star opposite Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the Marvel Studios series. He's believed to be playing Eric Williams, "the brother of Simon Williams aka the titular Wonder Man (Abdul-Mateen II)." (TVLine.com)
