PARAMOUNT+ ANNOUNCES NEW DOCUSERIES "GEDDY LEE ASKS: ARE BASS PLAYERS HUMAN TOO?" TO PREMIERE DECEMBER 5

Hosted by Rock Legend Geddy Lee, Docuseries Features Interviews With Some of Music's Most Renowned Bass Players

Produced by Banger Films and MTV Entertainment Studios

October 25, 2023 - Paramount+ today announced that the new docuseries GEDDY LEE ASKS: ARE BASS PLAYERS HUMAN TOO? will premiere exclusively on the service Tuesday, December 5, in the U.S. and Canada and the following day in the U.K., Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Italy, France, Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

Produced by Banger Films and MTV Entertainment Studios, in GEDDY LEE ASKS: ARE BASS PLAYERS HUMAN TOO? famed Rush bassist Geddy Lee travels to the homes of some of music's most renowned bass players and digs into the stories that make these musicians stand out. A follow-up to his recent book, "Geddy Lee's Big Beautiful Book of Bass," the new 4-part series features episodes with Krist Novoselic (Nirvana), Les Claypool (Primus), Melissa Auf der Maur (Hole, Smashing Pumpkins) and Rob Trujillo (Metallica).

"The idea for this show was born out of interviews I did for my first book "The Big, Beautiful Book of Bass," said Lee. "I was struck that these accomplished musicians also lived incredibly interesting, multifaceted lives offstage. Who knew bass players were so effin' human?"

In his long-awaited and revealing memoir, "My Effin' Life" (Harper; November 14, 2023), the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer delves into his extraordinary personal history and takes fans behind the scenes of 50 years of rock, sweat and tears with his legendary band. Lee will embark on the 19-city "My Effin' Life In Conversation" tour in the U.S., Canada and the U.K., hitting New York, Montreal, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Glasgow and London, among others. Tickets for all dates are available at rush.com/geddylee.

GEDDY LEE ASKS: ARE BASS PLAYERS HUMAN TOO? is produced by Allan Weinrib, and executive produced by Scot McFadyen, Sam Dunn, Rick Krim, Bruce Gillmer and Amanda Culkowski. Dunn serves as director of the series and Daniel Richler as writer.
