Based on the eponymous prize-winning non-fiction book on Copenhagen biker gangs in the late '70s-early '80s, the multiple award-winning series Bullshit makes its exclusive debut in the US on Thursday, January 30, 2025 with all six episodes available to binge on the Viaplay US streaming service. This coming-of-age Danish language historical drama tells the powerful story of a group of lost and rebellious youths who find community and belonging in the hardcore biker gang "Bullshit," but leads to a world of brutal conflict. The six-part Viaplay Original drama series delves into the bikers' darkly exciting, but dangerous world as a passionate love story unfolds.

Bullshit garnered top wins at the 2024 Geneva International Film Festival for 'Best Series' and at the Danish Series Awards 2024 for 'Best Miniseries', 'Best Direction,' and 'Best Acting Performance' for co-lead actor Marco Ilsø (Vikings).

Pia (Alba August, The Congregation, The Rain) is a determined 16-year-old who summons up the courage to finally leave her difficult family. Taking with her just 100 Kroner and the desire to be part of a community, she meets 18-year-old Henning, a.k.a Mackerel (Ilsø), who turns his back on acceptable society to follow his dreams of brotherhood, freedom and motorcycles - leading him to the biker gang he sees as his family. The pair embark on a wild love-affair as the ambitious Mackerel is determined to climb the ranks of Bullshit, whatever the cost. Life seems ideal for a moment as he eventually becomes its President and Pia becomes his wife, but a bloody war with the Hells Angels is about to change everything. Says director/writer/creator Milad Alami, "Bullshit is a coming-of-age story about violence, love, and the loss of innocence - a touching and violent portrait of a generation."

Inspired by true events from 1977-1984, Bullshit features a top-shelf international cast including August, Ilsø, Clint Ruben (The Venus Effect) as Mackerel's best friend Steen, and Vic Carmen Sonne (The Kingdom Exodus) as Pia's best friend Betina, whose stirring performances navigate the chaos of youth, love, and conflict. Other actors include Peter Christoffersen (Raised by Wolves, When The Dust Settles) as Frejlif, and Adam Ild Rohweder (Persona non Grate, Holiday) as Svamp.

Produced by Nordisk Film Creative Alliance for Viaplay, Bullshit is written by series creators Molly Malene Stensgaard (Dancer In The Dark, Melancholia), Bo Hr. Hansen (The Art of Crying, Families Like Ours) and Milad Alami (The Charmer, When The Dust Settles, Follow The Money). The series is directed by Alami, and is based on the acclaimed, Cavling Prize-winning non-fiction book BULLSHIT: The Story of a Family by Camilla Stockmann and Janus Køster-Rasmussen. (6 Episodes, Danish w/English subtitles)
