NEW YORK, NY (February 28, 2025) -- Lifetime greenlights A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush (working title), a brand-new unscripted series from leading independent global producer VICE Studios, a division of global media and entertainment company, VICE Media. Each one-hour episode will follow along during the most high-stakes time in a college-bound girl's life, Sorority Rush. Rush has become a global social media phenomenon off the heels of #BamaRush. As of May 2023, #BamaRush on TikTok had accumulated 2.6 billion views, with viewers following these hopeful teens' journeys to join Greek Life. But behind every perfectly curated outfit and resume... is their mom. The series follows along as they go through the grueling application process, mastering the perfect sorority style, moving into the dorms and on-campus Rush week, all leading up to the results of the big Bid Day. From hiring consultants to overspending on outfits and accessories meant to impress, it all raises the question: is the journey for the daughters, or for their mothers? These moms, daughters and even grandmothers will do anything it takes to get them accepted into their legacy sororities. The new series will debut later this year on Lifetime.
"I remember what it was like when I rushed in college. Now, as my own daughter is about to embark on her freshman year and rush herself, I know how deeply important this rite of passage is for many young women," said Elaine Frontain Bryant, EVP and Head of Programming, A&E, Lifetime and LMN. "This show is a peek into the fascinating rush process and will engage those who are going after Greek life or not."
Danny Gabai, Co-President VICE Studios adds, "The sensational success of our documentary feature Bama Rush raised massive global interest across TikTok and multiple social media outlets. Our new reality series delves even deeper into the incredible value that the sorority legacy holds in the lives of many young women and their families, particularly when viewed through the unique mom and daughter lens."
A Sorority Mom's Guide to Rush (wt) is produced by VICE Studios in association with GroupM Motion Entertainment for Lifetime. Danny Gabai, Lauren Terp, and Andrew Freston serve as executive producers for VICE. Richard Foster and Chet Fenster are executive producers for GroupM Motion Entertainment. Brandon Wilson also executive produces. Brie Miranda Bryant and Nicole Vogel serve as executive producers for Lifetime.
