NBC UNIVERSAL DOMESTIC TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION'S 'THE JANE PAULEY SHOW' DEBUTS TO STRONG RATINGS
New Talk Show Improves Time Periods From Year Ago Averages
NEW YORK -- August 31, 2004 -- NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's "The Jane Pauley Show" debuted to strong ratings Monday in national syndication, averaging a 2.4 rating/7 share in metered market primary telecasts, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The new daily talk show which is sold in over 99% of the country, improved time periods in the metered markets by 4% over year ago averages. "The Jane Pauley Show" debut was stronger than all other first-run syndication premieres since fall 2002, including last year's top new series "Ellen" (2.0/6).

*On WNBC-TV New York, "Jane" improved its 11 a.m. time period by 50%, averaging a 2.1 rating. "Jane" was #1 in the time period in women 25-54.
*On KNTV-TV San Francisco, "Jane" was #1 in its 3 p.m. time period, up 14% to a 2.4/8.
*On WXYZ-TV Detroit, "Jane" was #1 in its 10 a.m. time period with a 4.6/14.
*On KOMO-TV Seattle, "Jane" improved its 4 p.m. time period by nearly 50% to a 4.6/12.
*On KSDK-TV St. Louis, "Jane" was number one in the 10 a.m. time period and up 118% to a 6.1/20.
*On WISH-TV Indianapolis, "Jane" improved its 4 p.m. time period by 45% to a 4.2/10.
