Cartoon Network Sets New Quarterly Delivery, Ratings Records for Key Kids and Tweens Demos

Cartoon Network Scores Best August and September Performances in Its History Across All Target Demos
Waving a checkered flag as it speeds into October, Cartoon Network, fresh from its double Prime Time EMMY wins for �Outstanding Animated Prorgam,� scored its best-ever quarterly delivery and ratings performance in network history across its target kids demos, according to Nielsen Media Research. Third Quarter 2004 (3Q04) charted across-the-board double-digit gains in kids� total day, while prime time also set new quarterly records with kids 6-11, boys 6-11 and boys 2-11. August stood out individually as the top performing month in Cartoon Network history, earning new monthly kids� total day records among all target demos. This was followed by a best September performance as well. Overall 3Q04 performance highlights compared to Third Quarter 2003 (3Q03) include the following:
Kids� Total Day (Monday-Sunday, 6 a.m. � 6 a.m., Kids Programming)
- Kids 6-11 delivery (523,000) increased by 16% and ratings (2.2) by 22%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (816,000) improved by 10% and ratings (2.1) by 11%.
- Tweens 9-14 delivery (385,000) expanded by 18% and ratings (1.6) by 23%.
Prime Time (Monday-Sunday, 8�11 p.m.)
- Kids 6-11 delivery (732,000) and ratings (3.0) both rose by 7%.
- Tweens 9-14 delivery (548,000) and ratings (2.2) both advanced by 10%.

- Kids 6-11 delivery (581,000) raced ahead by 22% and ratings (2.4) by 26%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (887,000) grew by 13% and ratings (2.2) by 10%.
- Tweens 9-14 delivery (430,000) leaped by 27% and ratings (1.7) by 31%.
September �04 Kids� Total Day (8/30/04 � 9/26/04) � Best September in Cartoon Network History
- Kids 6-11 delivery (441,000) surged by 18% and ratings (1.8) by 13%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (728,000) and ratings (1.8) both jumped by 13%.
- Tweens 9-14 delivery (325,000) grew by 17% and ratings (1.3) by 18%.
Ranking #1 among Cartoon Network�s original series, Foster�s Home for Imaginary Friends has proven to be an unqualified hit since its premiere on Aug. 13. Its 7 p.m. timeslot on Friday nights has continually beaten all television competitors for average delivery of kids 6-11, kids 2-11, boys 6-11 and boys 2-11 for the last six weeks. Highlights of its overall performance vs. the same time periods last year include the following:

- Kids 6-11 delivery (1,072,000) ballooned by 111% and ratings (4.4) by 110%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (1,471,000) expanded by 78% and ratings (3.7) by 76%.
- 11,382,000 different persons 2+ tuned into Foster�s over the five weekend premiere telecasts.
- With Foster�s, Cartoon Network�s scored its best-ever original series premiere in network history.
Still riding an astounding wave of ratings success, ADULT SWIM, now in its third year since launch, continued to earn double-digit delivery and ratings increases across target young adult audiences, and triple-digit increases among women 18-34. Quarterly performance highlights vs. the same time period last year follow:
ADULT SWIM (Monday-Thursday, Saturday-Sunday, 11 p.m.-2 a.m.)
- Adults 18-34 delivery (474,000) grew by 26% and ratings (0.7) by 17%.
- Adults 18-24 delivery (267,000) improved by 24% and ratings (1.0) by 25%.
- Women 18-34 delivery (198,000) and ratings (0.6) both mushroomed by 100%.
- The Tuesday, Sept. 14, 11:30 p.m. telecast of Futurama posted the highest delivery ever for a single telecast on Cartoon Network with adults 18-34 (1,131,000), adults 18-24 (755,000) and men 18-24 (544,000).

- Kids 6-11 delivery (796,000) and ratings (3.3) both increased by 38%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (1,166,000) expanded by 24% and ratings (3.0) by 25%.
MIGUZI (Monday-Friday, 5-7 p.m.)
- Girls 6-11 delivery (177,000) ballooned by 72% and ratings (1.5) by 67%.
- Kids 6-11 delivery (635,000) surged by 14% and ratings (2.6) by 13%.
- Kids 2-11 delivery (979,000) jumped by 21% and ratings (2.5) by 25%.
TOONAMI (Saturday, 7-11 p.m.)
- Tweens 9-14 delivery (553,000) advanced by 30% and ratings (2.2) by 29%.
Teen Titans (Saturday, 8 p.m.)�third season to date
- Kids 6-11 delivery (856,000) improved by 54% and ratings (3.6) by 57%.
- Tweens 9-14 delivery (825,000) mushroomed by 94% and ratings (3.4) by 100%.
