HIGHEST-RATED APRIL IN NETWORK�S HISTORY
Substantial Year-to-Year Ratings Growth In Households And Key Demos
Week One Of April 2005 Is Hallmark Channel�s Highest Week Ever
Flowers, but no April showers for Hallmark Channel! Original movies have helped
push Hallmark Channel to its highest-rated April in the network�s history, and its fourthhighest
month ever, with considerable year-to-year growth in all key demos in April 2005
compared with April 2004.
Week One of April 2005 (3/28-4/2/2005) averaged a .8 HH rating with 527,000
homes to become the highest week in network history. In addition, Saturday, April 2,
averaged a 1.1 HH rating with 742,000 homes to become the third highest day for
Hallmark Channel.
For April 2005, in Total Day, Hallmark Channel increased 17% since April 2004
with a .7 in HH, +30% in homes with 457,000, +46% in W25-54 with 130,000 and +40%
in A25-54 with 226,000 among all 59 measured ad-supported cable networks (Nielsen
Media Research, 3/28/05-4/24/05 compared to 3/29/04-4/25/04).
In Prime Time, for April �05 compared to April �04, Hallmark Channel increased
18%, delivering 594,000 homes, + 31% in W25-54 with 167,000 and +26% in A25-54
with 265,000.
Continued ratings success has led the network to its sixth straight monthly Top 10
ranking in Total Day household rating ranking #9 with a .7 rating.
Contributing to the April success was the premiere of �Out of the Woods,� a
Hallmark Channel Original movie which delivered a 2.6 HH coverage area rating with 1,785,000 homes becoming the highest rated ad-supported cable movie of the day, and
the second highest ad-supported movie of the week (Nielsen Media Research, 3/28-
4/3/05).
The Original movie, which aired Saturday, April 2, 8-10 p.m., attracted nearly 3.4
million unduplicated viewers Persons 2+ and was part of Hallmark Channel's third highest
day ever and highest week ever.
Competitively, "Out of the Woods" ranked #2 in HH Rating in the time period, and
for key demographics ranked #1 in W25-54 (1.6 rating) and #2 in A25-54 (1.2 rating)
among all 59 ad-supported cable networks. In addition, �Out of the Woods� was the
second highest Hallmark Channel telecast in network history among HH delivery. It
ranked among the top five all-time Hallmark Channel telecasts for each key demographic,
notably #3 among A25-54 (955,000 viewers) and #4 among W25-54 (650,000 viewers).
�Out of the Woods� is just one of many Hallmark Channel Original movies that are
leading the way in 2005! For 2005-to-date, Hallmark Channel has delivered eight of the
top 10 ad-supported cable original movies for Length of Tune among viewers P2+ (the
amount of continuous minutes a viewer spends tuned to a program without switching
channels).
