OBSSESSED VIEWERS MAKE MONK #1
New York, NY - July 12, 2005 - The fourth season premiere of the USA Network original series MONK on Friday averaged a 4.8 household rating with 6.4 million viewers tuning in, making it the most-watched episode in the show's history. Earning a 3.0 rating in P25-54, the series became the highest-rated basic cable original series telecast of the year in that demo. Additionally, MONK was the leading basic cable program of the week in all key demos (2.4 in P18-49 and 3.0 in P25-54).
After Friday's premiere of MONK, USA is home to seven of the top 10 basic cable entertainment series telecasts of 2005, joining episodes of the critically acclaimed original series THE 4400.
Building on MONK'S season three's opener, season four's premiere ratings were up +8% in households, +19% in P18-49, +5% in P25-54 and +15% in total viewers.
MONK will air all-new episodes through Friday, August 26 at 10:00 PM ET/PT.
