UPN's Thursday Comedy Block Delivers Double Digit Growth with Women
On the first night of the November Sweep, UPN's critically acclaimed comedy EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS continues to deliver in the heavily competitive Thursday landscape, giving UPN a dramatic boost in the time period with year-to-year gains of 21% in adults 18-34 (1.7/5), 19% in adults 18-49 (1.9/5), 130% in women 18-34 (2.3/6), 118% in women 18-49 (2.4/6) and 19% in total viewers (5.1 million), based on preliminary Nielsen ratings for Nov. 3.
Based on Local People Meter data, EVERYBODY HATES CHRIS remains impressively competitive in key major markets. Among adults 18-34, CHRIS ranked second in its time period in Los Angeles (2.1/5-tie) and Chicago (2.8/10-tie), ranked third in New York (2.7/9) and Philadelphia (4.6/11).
CHRIS was second from 8-8:30pm among adults 18-49 in New York (3.5/10) and Philadelphia (4.3/10), behind only "Survivor."
EVE and CUTS combined to beat the WB's EVERWOOD in the target demo of women 18-34.
EVE retained 100% of its audience from last week in adults 18-34, adults 18-49, women 18-34 and women 18-49, while CUTS improved week-to-week in adults 18-34 (20%), adults 18-49 (25%), women 18-34 (29%) and women 18-49 (36%).
Versus the first Thursday of the Nov. 2004 Sweep, UPN's new comedy block scored dramatic growth in women 18-34 (50%, 1.8/5) and women 18-49 (42%, 1.7/4).
