"Maury" Averaged 4.5 Million Viewers per Episode; "The Jerry Springer Show" Averaged 3.2 Million Viewers per Telecast
"Access Hollywood Weekend" Attracts 3.4 Million Viewers Per Episode; Best Numbers In Over 2 Years
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. -- January 11, 2006 -- NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution's "The Jerry Springer Show" and "Maury" both scored their best ratings of the season in households, key demos and total viewers during the week of December 26, 2005, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
The weekend edition of "Access Hollywood" scored season-high ratings in households, total viewers and key women demos during the most recent week.
"Maury" averaged a season-high of 4.5 million viewers per episode and hit its best household rating of the season with a 3.3HH, up 14% over the previous week. The series tied its season best rating with Women 18-49 (2.1), up 11% over the previous week and tied its season best rating with Women 25-54 (2.1), up 17% over the previous week.
"The Jerry Springer Show" delivered its best rating of the season in households (2.3), up 10% from the previous week and averaged 3.2 million viewers per telecast, the show's best since March 2005. Springer also tied season-high ratings with Women 18-49 (1.3), up 8% from the previous week, and scored its best rating of the season with Women 25-54 (1.4), up 17% from the previous week.
"Access Hollywood Weekend" scored its highest total viewers number in over 2 years (since December 2003), averaging 3.4 million viewers per telecast which is up 73% over the previous weekend and up 18% over the same week last year. The weekend series also tied its season best rating in households (2.3), up 64% over the previous week and up 10% over the same week last year, and with Women 18-34 (1.2), up 71% over the previous week. In addition, the show achieved season-high ratings with Women 18-49 (1.5), up 114% over the previous week and up 15% over the same week last year, and with Women 25-54 (1.7), up 89% over the previous week and up 13% over the same week last year (best rating in the demo since December 2002.)
