CBS Sports' coverage of the AFC Championship Game (Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos) attracted 39 million viewers making it the Number One broadcast on any network this season, in the week ending Jan. 22, week 18 of the 2005-2006 television season.
In a week in which CBS placed second in viewers and households, WITHOUT A TRACE delivered season highs in viewers and key demographics, CSI was the week's top scripted program, NCIS improved its viewership from the prior week opposite the premiere of "American Idol" and the premiere of LOVE MONKEY delivered the time period's highest adult 18-49 rating since the finale of "Rock Star: INXS" in premiere week.
For the week in viewers, CBS (11.87m) trailed FOX (19.34m) and was ahead of ABC (11.45m) and NBC (9.62m). Season-to-date in viewers, CBS (12.99m) leads, followed by ABC (11.01m), NBC (9.12m) and FOX (8.54m).
For the week in households, CBS (7.7/12) was -31% behind FOX (11.2/17) and was +4% ahead of ABC (7.4/11) and +20% ahead of NBC (6.4/10). Season-to-date, CBS is first in households (8.4/14), outpacing ABC by +18% (7.1/11), NBC by +38% (6.1/10) and FOX by +56% (5.4/09).
For the week in key demographics, CBS averaged a 4.5/10 in adults 25-54 and 3.6/09 in adults 18-49. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (5.0/12) and second in adults 18-49 (3.9/11, -0.1 behind ABC).
� AFC CHAMPIONSHIP ON CBS "Pittsburgh Steelers at Denver Broncos" (3:08-6:16PM) posted a 23.6/44 with 39.00m viewers, 14.3/46 in adults 18-49 and 16.4/47 in adults 25-54. This is the Number One broadcast on any network, season to date.
� NCIS was second in households (11.1/16), viewers (17.74m), adults 25-54 (5.7/12) and adults 18-49 (4.0/09). Against the highly promoted premiere of "American Idol", NCIS posted gains from last week in household (+3%), viewers (+3%), adults 25-54 (+2%) and maintained last week's adults 18-49 delivery (last week was also a first run episode).
� CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION was first in households (16.9/25), viewers (27.13m), adults 25-54 (11.3/25), adults 18-49 (9.1/22) and adults 18-34 (6.1/16). CSI was the week's top scripted program.
� WITHOUT A TRACE was first in households (15.1/25), viewers (23.12m), adults 25-54 (9.1/22), adults 18-49 (7.3/19) and adults 18-34 (5.0/15), all season highs. WITHOUT A TRACE posted its best ever retention of its CSI lead-in (original telecast to original telecast): 89% in households, 85% in viewers, 81% in adults 25-54, 80% in adults 18-49 and 82% in adults 18-34.
� LOVE MONKEY (P) (5.9/09, 8.63m) was second in adults 18-49 (3.5/09) and adults 18-34 (2.6/07). LOVE MONKEY posted the best delivery in both adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 for a CBS Tuesday 10:00-11:00PM series since the series finale of ROCK STAR: INXS. LOVE MONKEY's median age was 46.7 years, down from 53.5 year for "Judging Amy" on the same night last year.
� CRIMINAL MINDS (9.1/13, 14.10m) was the week's Number One new scripted series.
� CSI: NY was first in households (10.3/17), viewers (15.55m), adults 25-54 (6.4/15) and adults 18-49 (5.3/13).
