Building on its Lead-in for the 3rd Straight Telecast, ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� Beats CBS and NBC Together at 10pm by 5.0 Million Viewers and by 80% in Adults 18-49

WEEK No. 25:

ABC continued to deliver improved results from last year, up by 7% in Total Viewers (9.1 million vs. 8.5 million) and by 6% in Adults 18-49 (3.4/9 vs. 3.2/9) from the same week a year ago (w/o 3/7/05). It was the 7th time in 8 weeks that ABC has been up over the comparable week last year on both Nielsen measures. ABC earned second place during the week among Adults 18-34 (2.8/9), Men 18-34 (2.0/7-tie) and Women 18-34 (3.6/10).

� Season to date ABC has increased its primetime delivery by 1.0 million viewers (11.5 million vs. 10.5 million) and by 8% in Adults 18-49 (4.2/11 vs. 3.9/10) over the same point a year ago. In addition, ABC is the only network to build its audience this season on either Nielsen measure.

Rankings: During the week of March 6, 2006, ABC aired 3 of the week�s Top 10 TV programs among in Adults 18-49, including the Top 2 scripted series with �Grey�s Anatomy� and �Desperate Housewives�: �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 4 (No. 1 scripted), �Desperate Housewives� � No. 5 (No. 2 scripted) and �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� � No. 8 (top unscripted series after �American Idol�). The Net claimed 3 of the Top 15 most-watched programs, with �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 5, �Desperate Housewives� � No. 6 and �Home Edition� � No. 12.

Monday

With its new Monday night lineup, ABC continued its recent trend of delivering strong numbers among young women, winning the night among Women 18-34 (4.4/11). Each of ABC�s programs on the evening, �Wife Swap,� �Supernanny� and �Miracle Workers,� built viewer and young adult audience throughout the course of their respective telecasts.

� The Net�s new lineup delivered improved results. ABC was up from the same night last year (3/6/05) by 1.6 million viewers (9.0 million vs. 7.4 million) and by 20% in Adults 18-49 (3.6/9 vs. 3.0/7).

�Wife Swap� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

In the opening hour of the night, ABC�s �Wife Swap� took second place in its time period across each of the women demographics: W18-34 (4.3/11), W18-49 (4.7/11) and W25-54 (5.1/11).

�Supernanny� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

On its return to the schedule, ABC�s �Supernanny� moved ABC up into first place in the hour among Women 18-34, 21% ahead of its nearest competition (5.1/13 vs. 4.2/10 � CBS� comedies). It was the No. 1 TV program on Monday in Women 18-34. The ABC unscripted show built on its lead-in and earned second place in the time period among Women 18-49 (5.4/12) and Women 25-54 (6.0/12).

� �Supernanny� attracted the series� largest audience (9.7 million) in more than 1 year � since 2/21/05.

�Miracle Workers� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

In its series debut, opposite established programs in the time period (CBS� �CSI: Miami� and NBC�s �Medium�), ABC�s �Miracle Workers� earned second place in the 10 o�clock hour among Adults 18-34 (3.0/9) and Teens 12-17 (1.3/5), beating NBC�s �Medium.�

Tuesday

Boosted by the series debut of �Sons & Daughters,� ABC posted its highest rated Tuesday among Adults 18-49 (2.9/8) in 8 weeks, equaling its strongest non-sports performance on the night since December � since 1/10/06 and 12/20/05, respectively.

�According to Jim� (8:00-8:30 p.m.)

Head to head in the 8:00 p.m. half-hour, ABC�s �According to Jim� beat NBC�s �Joey� in the half-hour by 1.7 million viewers (5.8 million vs. 4.1 million) and by 43% in Adults 18-49 (2.0/6 vs. 1.4/4).

�Sons & Daughters� (9:00-9:30 p.m.)

ABC�s series debut of �Sons & Daughters� jumped from its lead-in by 2.6 million viewers and by 67% in Adults 18-49, and then went on to beat its comedy competition in its time period (NBC�s �Scrubs�) by 2.7 million viewers (8.4 million vs. 5.7 million) and by 25% in Adults 18-49 (3.5/8 vs. 2.8/7).

� In its premiere telecast, �Sons & Daughters� marked ABC�s top Adult 18-49 rating in the time period with regular programming in 4 months � since 11/8/05. It logged the Net�s top Adult 18-34 number (2.7/7) with series programming in the half-hour since October � since 10/25/05.

� Compared to ABC�s performance in the half-hour since �American Idol� came back to the night (1/17/06), �Sons & Daughters� improved the time period by 35% in Adults 18-49 (3.5/8 vs. 2.6/6).

�Sons & Daughters� (9:30-10:00 p.m.)

A second episode of �Sons & Daughters� also beat its comedy competition in the time period (NBC�s �Scrubs� repeat) in Total Viewers (7.5 million vs. 5.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.0/7 vs. 2.8/7).

� The second airing of �Sons & Daughters� represented a 20% improvement among Adults 18-49 (3.0/7 vs. 2.5/5) for ABC in the time period, over its average with regular programming since the return of �Idol� in mid-January. Additionally, the new comedy logged the Net�s top Adult 18-34 (2.5/7) rating in the slot with series programming since the beginning of November � since 11/1/05.

�Boston Legal� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

ABC�s �Boston Legal� (11.4 million) was the most-watched TV show during the 10 o�clock hour, outpacing NBC�s replay �Law & Order: SVU� by more than 1 million viewers (10.3 million) and CBS� �Amazing Race� by nearly 2 million viewers (9.5 million).

� �Boston Legal� gained viewers (11.1 million to 11.7 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.3/9 to 3.5/10) from its first half-hour to its second half-hour.

Sunday

ABC ranked as the dominant No. 1 network on Sunday night opposite all original competition on the other nets, beating its nearest competitors by 7.6 million viewers (17.9 million vs. 10.3 million � CBS) and by 85% in Adults 18-49 (7.4/18 vs. 4.0/10 � Fox). ABC won each half-hour of the evening beginning at 8:00 p.m. among viewers and young adults. ABC also took first place on the evening among Adults 25-54 (8.2/18), Adults 18-34 (6.6/18), Teens 12-17 (3.8/12) and Kids 2-11 (2.5/10).

� ABC aired the Top 3 TV programs on Sunday among Total Viewers and Adults 18-49, with �Grey�s Anatomy,� �Desperate Housewives� and �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.�

� Compared to the same Sunday a year ago (3/13/05), ABC�s delivery grew by 4.8 million viewers (17.9 million vs. 13.1 million) and by 40% in Adults 18-49 (7.4/18 vs. 5.3/13).

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition � 3/12� (7:00-8:00 p.m.)

A 7 o�clock installment of �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� was a very strong second in its hour to Fox�s NASCAR overrun among Adults 18-49 (4.0/11 vs. 4.4/13).

�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)

ABC�s �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� won its regular 8 o�clock time period by 1.8 million viewers (16.8 million vs. 15.0 million � CBS� �Cold Case�) and by 70% in Adults 18-49 (6.8/17 vs. 4.0/10 � Fox�s �The Simpsons�/�The War at Home�).

� �Home Edition� delivered it strongest numbers since January in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (since 1/8/06), while hitting a season high among Adults 18-34 (6.0/17).

�Desperate Housewives� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

On its first broadcast in 3 weeks, after being pre-empted for the �Dancing with the Stars� finale and the �Academy Awards,� ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� dominated Sunday�s 9 o�clock hour. �Desperate Housewives� beat second-place NBC�s �Law & Order: C.I.� in the time period by 9.9 million viewers (22.2 million vs. 12.3 million) and by 144% in Adults 18-49 (8.8/19 vs. 3.6/8).

�Grey�s Anatomy� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)

Building on its �Desperate Housewives� lead-in among viewers and young adults for the third consecutive telecast, ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� beat CBS and NBC combined during the 10 o�clock hour. In its time period, �Grey�s� topped the combined deliveries of CBS (Sunday Movie) and NBC (�Crossing Jordan�) by 5.0 million viewers (22.5 million vs. 17.5 million) and by 80% in Adults 18-49 (9.9/23 vs. 5.5/12).
