During the week prior to the official start of the 2006-07 television season (w/o 9/12/06), ABC qualified as the most-watched network (9.4 million) and finished in a virtual tie for first place in Adults 18-49 (3.0/9 vs. 3.1/9 for CBS). ABC also held the No. 1 position for the week across each of the key women demographics: W18-34 (3.0/10 � tie), W18-49 (3.9/11) and W25-54 (4.6/12). The Network was up by 2.1 million viewers and by 11% in Adults 18-49 from the same week last year (w/o 9/12/05 = 7.3 million viewers & 2.7/8 in Adults 18-49).

Tuesday
With the third season premiere of �Dancing with the Stars� and a preview airing of �Men in Trees,� ABC stood as the No. 1 TV network on Tuesday night in viewers and young adults. The Network outpaced second-place Fox on the night by 5.4 million viewers (17.5 million vs. 12.1 million) and by 11% in Adults 18-49 (5.1/14 vs. 4.6/12).
� ABC generated its most-watched non-sports Tuesday in nearly 5 years � since 10/10/00. The Net logged its highest non-sports Adult 18-49 rating on the evening since November 2003 � since 11/11/03.
�Dancing with the Stars� (8:00-10:02 p.m.)
Although it faced formidable competition in its third season premiere, including Fox�s �House� and the season finale of CBS� �Big Brother 7,� ABC�s �Dancing with the Stars� soared to the top of its time period. In its time slot, �Dancing with the Stars� outdrew its nearest competition (Fox) by 8.1 million viewers (20.2 million vs. 12.1 million) and by 24% in Adults 18-49 (5.7/15 vs. 4.6/12). �Dancing with the Stars� was the most-watched television show on Tuesday, qualifying as the most-watched entertainment program on all of TV since the season finale of �American Idol� in May (5/24/06).
� �Dancing with the Stars� was up substantially from its second season premiere in January, growing 2.7 million viewers and 19% in Adults 18-49 (17.5 million & 4.8/12 on 1/5/06). In fact it was the third-highest-rated telecast ever for �DWTS,� behind only the season finales of Season 2 and Season 1, respectively.

Receiving strong sampling on its Tuesday preview before it moves to its regular Friday 9:00-10:00 p.m. time period, ABC�s �Men in Trees� ranked No. 1 during the 10 o�clock hour. �Men in Trees� outpaced its closest competition (NBC) by 31% in Total Viewers (11.7 million vs. 8.9 million) and by 20% in Adults 18-49 (3.6/10 vs. 3.0/8).
� The preview telecast of �Men in Trees� generated ABC�s largest audience and top Adult 18-49 rating in the hour with series programming in nearly 8 months � since 1/24/06.
Wednesday
�Dancing with the Stars the Results Show� (8:00-9:01 p.m.)
�Dancing with the Stars the Results Show� shot out of the gate with an average audience of 16.3 million viewers and a 4.1 rating, 13 share among Adults 18-49. Political journalist Tucker Carlson was the first dancer to be eliminated from the contest this season. The results show overshadowed its time period, beating its nearest competitors by 7.7 million viewers (Fox�s �Bones = 8.6 million) and by 32% in Adults 18-49 (CBS� �Rock Star: Supernova� season finale = 3.1/9). In fact, the ABC unscripted program ranked No. 1 in its time slot across the board, including Total Viewers, each of key adult demos (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25/54), Teens 12-17 and Kids 2-11.
� �DWTS�� results show stood as the No. 1 TV program on Wednesday in Total Viewers and Adults 18-49.

The �Jimmy Kimmel Live�s All-Star Salute to Jimmy Kimmel Live!� ranked No. 1 in its hour among Men 18-34 (1.6/5 � tied).
� Ranked among all �Jimmy Kimmel� telecasts, �Jimmy Kimmel Live�s All-Star Salute to Jimmy Kimmel Live!� added exposure to the franchise, as the special drew the franchise�s third-best performance ever in both Total Viewers (4.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (1.7/5), behind only its two post-Super Bowl telecast on 2/5/06 and 1/26/03, respectively.
Thursday
On the final Thursday before official start of the 2006-07 TV season, ABC�s lineup of back-to-back repeat episodes of �Grey�s Anatomy� and ABC�s News� �Primetime� attracted 8.0 million viewers and a 3.0 rating 9 share among Adults 18-49, placing second on the night in both Nielsen measures. In addition, ABC scored its highest young adult rating on the night since April � since 4/6/06, with non-sports programming.

The 8:00 p.m. repeat telecast of �Grey�s Anatomy� took second in its hour in both Total Viewers (6.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.3/7) with the drama�s strongest numbers ever in the time slot in both Nielsen measures. Opposite the season premiere of CBS� �Survivor: Cook Island� and Fox�s original comedies (�Til Death�/�Happy Hour�), the repeat �Grey�s Anatomy� drew the Net�s highest Adults 18-49 rating in the hour since March � since 3/30/06.
�Grey�s Anatomy� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Surging from its lead-in by 2.0 million viewers and by 48% with young adults, the second repeat episode of �Grey�s Anatomy� scored the show�s strongest summer numbers ever in both Total Viewers (8.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (3.4/10). The drama finished second in the hour in viewers and young adults, while ranking No. 1 in the time slot with Women 18-34 (4.1/12), beating out CBS� �Survivor�-boosted �C.S.I.� replay.

Friday
With a winning performance from the premiere of �Men in Trees� as it moved into its regular time 9:00 p.m. time period and another impressive delivery from ABC News� �20/20� at the end of the evening, ABC ranked as the No. 1 network on Friday among Total Viewers (6.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.1/7). Making the Net�s victory during primetime even more noteworthy is the fact that ABC aired with reduced U.S. coverage (92%) for its 8:00-9:00 p.m. programming, due to pre-emptions for Billy Graham.
� ABC matched its top Adult 18-49 rating on the evening since May (since 5/19/06) and was up sharply from its performance on the same night last year, gaining 2.4 million viewers and by 40% in Adults 18-49 (4.5 million viewers & 1.5/5 in Adults 18-49 on Friday 9/16/05).
�Men in Trees� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Jumping from its lead-in by 3.0 million viewers and by 57% with young adults, the time period premiere of �Men in Trees� posted a dominant win in its regular Friday 9 o�clock slot. ABC�s �Men in Trees� outdelivered its nearest competition in the hour by 32% in Total Viewers (8.1 million vs. 6.1 million � CBS� replay �Close to Home�) and by 38% in Adults 18-49 (2.2/7 vs. 1.6/5 � Fox�s original �Celebrity Duets� results show). �Men in Trees� stood as the most-watched TV program on Friday.
� Marking ABC�s strongest performance in the time slot in viewers and young adults since May (since 5/19/06 & 5/26/06, respectively), �Men in Trees� boosted the Net�s results hour over the same night last year by 5.1 million viewers and by 100% in Adults 18-49 (3.0 million & 1.1/4 on 9/16/05).

Building on its lead-in by 2.2 million viewers and by 29% among Adults 18-49, part 2 of �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� attracted ABC�s biggest audience (12.1 million) and strongest women ratings [Women 18-34 (4.8/13), Women 18-49 (6.0/14) and Women 25-54 (6.9/14)] in the time period in 4 months � since 5/21/06.
� �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� was the No. 1 entertainment show Sunday night among Total Viewers (12.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.5/11 � tied with Fox�s �Family Guy�). �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� was the No. 1 show of the evening across all key women demos, surpassing NBC�s �Sunday Night Football.�
