"America's Next Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" Combine to Lift The CW to Second on Wednesday in Adults and Women 18-34
October 5, 2006 (Burbank, CA) - With dramatic week-to-week increases, "America's Next Top Model" once again beat all competition in the hour, ranking first in The CW's target demos of adults 18-34 (3.3/11) and women 18-34 (4.8/14), according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 4. "Top Model" ranked second in the hour among women 18-49 (3.9/10).
"America's Next Top Model" climbed to season highs in key demos and viewers, including adults 18-34, adults 18-49 (2.7/8), women 18-49 and viewers (5.42mil).
"Top Model" delivered across the board gains over last week's episode, including 18% in adults 18-34, 20% in women 18-34, 13% in adults 18-49 (2.7/8), 11% in women 18-49 (3.9/10) and 15% in viewers (5.42mil).
Despite facing off against the season premiere of "Lost," "One Tree Hill" posted week-to-week gains in its target demo of women 18-34 (11%, 3.1/8) and retained 100% of last week's premiere audience in adults 18-34 (3.1/6).
"America's Next Top Model" and "One Tree Hill" combined to lift The CW to second on Wednesday night among women 18-34 (4.0/11) and adults 18-34 (2.7/8-tie).
The CW's Wednesday line-up represents a major improvement over both UPN and The WB on the same night a year ago (10/5/05) in all key demos. Compared to The WB's Wednesday, The CW is scoring increases of 42% in adults 18-34, 54% in women 18-34, 40% in adults 18-49 and 38% in women 18-49. Versus UPN's year ago Wednesday, The CW is up 42% in adults 18-34, 48% in women 18-34, 31% in adults 18-49 and 32% in women 18-49.
