Posting its fourth straight week of Total Viewer gains, ABC attracted its largest audience (8.8 million) and matched its top Adult 18-49 number (3.1/8) since November � since w/o 11/27/06. ABC defeated NBC during the week among young adult viewers: Adults 18-49 (3.1/8 vs. 3.0/8) and Adults 18-34 (2.5/7 vs. 2.3/7).
Weekly Rankings: ABC claimed 7 of the week�s Top 20 TV programs in Adults 18-49, including the No. 1 scripted series with �Grey�s Anatomy�: �Grey�s Anatomy� � No. 4, �Desperate Housewives� � No. 6, �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� � No. 9, �Brothers & Sisters� � No. 12, �Ugly Betty� � No. 14, �Supernanny� � No. 18 and �Wife Swap� � No. 19. �Grey�s Anatomy� (No. 4) and �Desperate Housewives� (No. 7) each finished the week among the Top 10 most-watched TV shows. For the second week in a row, ABC aired the Top 2 freshman series in Adults 18-49, with �Brothers & Sisters� and �Ugly Betty.� ABC News broadcast the No. 1 newsmagazine during the week among Adults 18-49, �Primetime: Medical Mysteries,� on Wednesday at 10:00 pm.
Monday
Despite stiff demographic competition from the �Golden Globes� telecast and Fox�s 2-hour Monday season premiere of �24,� ABC tied its second-highest-rated Monday this season among young adults with series programming (AD18-34 � 3.0/8 & AD18-49 � 3.3/8). ABC earned second place on the evening with Women 18-34 (4.1/10), behind only NBC with its �Golden Globes� coverage.
�Wife Swap� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
�Wife Swap� took second place in the hour among Women 18-34 (4.4/11) and Kids 2-11 (1.9/6).
� ABC�s �Wife Swap� delivered a season high in the 8 o'clock hour among Adults 18-49 (3.7/9) and its second-largest audience (8.4 million) of the season.
�Supernanny� (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Building on its lead-in with viewers and young adults, ABC�s �Supernanny� took second in its time slot with Women 18-34 (5.1/12) and ranked No. 1 among Kids 2-11 (2.1/8).
� Opposite the second hours of the �Globes� and �24,� �Supernanny� achieved a season high among Adults 18-49 (3.9/9), producing ABC�s strongest young adult number with regular programming in the time period in more than 7 months � since 5/1/06.
�What About Brian� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
�What About Brian� was up by 10% over the prior week among Adults 18-49 (2.2/5 vs. 2.0/5).
Tuesday
�Boston Legal� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
In the 10 o�clock hour, ABC's �Boston Legal� took second, defeating CBS� �48 Hours Mysteries� by 1.8 million viewers (9.9 vs. 8.1 million) and by 8% in Adults 18-49 (2.8/7 vs. 2.6/7).
� �Boston Legal� was up by 1.0 million viewers and 17% among Adults 18-49 over its performance the prior week (8.9 million & 2.4/6 in Adults 18-49 on 1/9/07).
Wednesday
�Primetime: Medical Mysteries� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
ABC News� �Primetime: Medical Mysteries� built on its season premiere the prior week by 1.4 million viewers (7.6 million vs. 6.2 million) and by 8% among Adults 18-49 (2.7/7 vs. 2.5/7). In addition, the ABC newsmagazine took second in the time slot among Adults 18-34 (2.1/6), beating NBC�s �Medium.�
Thursday
ABC posted another definitive first-place victory on Thursday night in Adults 18-49, beating out second-place CBS by 14% in the key young adult sales demographic (5.6/14 vs. 4.9/12). Making it a clean demographic sweep, the Network also held the No. 1 position on Thursday in Adults 25-54 (6.5/15), Adults 18-34 (5.0/14), Teens 12-17 (2.3/7) and Kids 2-11 (1.6/7).
� ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� stood as the No. 1 TV program on Thursday in Total Viewers and across each of the key adult demographics (AD18-34/AD18-49/AD25-54).
�Ugly Betty� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
On its first telecast since its �Golden Globes� victories, ABC�s freshman �Ugly Betty� ranked No. 1 during the 8 o�clock hour in Total Viewers (14.1 million) and Adults 18-49 (4.5/12). �Betty� also won its time period across each of the key women demographics: W18-34 (5.7/15), W18-49 (6.4/16) and W25-54 (7.6/17). Among its core audience of Women 18-34, �Ugly Betty� has been the No. 1 program in its hour on each of the series� regular original telecast.
� �Ugly Betty� attracted its largest audience in more than 3 months (since 10/5/06), representing its third-largest audience ever. The program equaled its second-highest-ever Adult 18-49 rating, trailing only its series debut telecast in September.
�Grey�s Anatomy� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)
Thursday�s No. 1 television program, ABC's �Grey's Anatomy� led the 9 o�clock hour in Total Viewers (21.9 million) and Adults 18-49 (8.7/20). In the key Adults 18-49 sales demographic, ABC�s �Grey�s Anatomy� defeated CBS� �C.S.I.� by a substantial 26% (8.7/20 vs. 6.9/16).
�MEN IN TREES� (10:01-11:00 p.m.)
ABC's �MEN IN TREES� delivered the No. 1 position during the 10 o�clock hour among Adults 18-34 (3.1/9-tie), winning the time period over CBS� original �Shark� among Women18-34 (4.2/12) and Women 18-49 (5.1/13).
� The freshman ABC series was up week to week, attracting its largest audience (10.4 million) and top Adult 18-49 rating (3.6/10) since its premiere telecast in the time period seven weeks ago - on 11/30/06. �MEN IN TREES� marked a series-high among Adults 18-34. In addition, the show matched a series-best in Men 18-49 (2.1/6) and hit a new high among Men 18-34 (2.0/6).
Friday
�20/20� (10:00-11:00 p.m.)
In the 10 o�clock hour, ABC News� �20/20� took the top spot in its time period in Total Viewers (8.1 million) and across each of the key adult demographics: Adults 18-34 (1.7/6), Adults 18-49 (2.5/7) and Adults 25-54 (3.2/9). In addition, the newsmagazine drew its largest audience in the hour in 6 weeks � since 12/8/06.
Sunday
Up against CBS� broadcast of the NFL AFC Championship Game (Patriots-Colts), ABC took a strong second on Sunday in viewers and young adults. ABC outdelivered third-place NBC by 4.6 million viewers (12.5 million vs. 7.9 million) and by 81% in Adults 18-49 (4.7/10 vs. 2.6/6).
� Despite facing the divisional Championship NFL game, ABC was up from the prior Sunday in both Total Viewers and Adults 18-49 (11.9 million and 4.5/10 on 1/14/07). In fact ABC posted its second-highest-rated Sunday in the past 8 weeks �since 11/26/06.
�America�s Funniest Home Videos� (7:00-8:00 p.m.)
At 7:00 p.m., ABC�s �America�s Funniest Home Videos� took second to CBS� NFL coverage in Adults 18-49, beating NBC�s �Deal or No Deal� in the hour (2.5/6 vs. 2.4/6).
� In Total Viewers (8.4 million) and Adults 18-49 (2.5/6), �America�s Funniest Home Videos� marked its top numbers in the time period in 6 weeks � since 12/10/06.
�Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
Sunday�s No. 1 unscripted series, ABC�s �Extreme Makeover: Home Edition� overshadowed its unscripted competition during the 8 o�clock hour. �Home Edition� widened its winning advantage over NBC�s �Grease: You�re the One that I Want� to 4.5 million viewers (12.6 million vs. 8.1 million) and 71% in Adults 18-49 (4.8/10 vs. 2.8/6).
� ABC�s �Home Edition� was up by 1.7 million viewers and by 20% in Adults 18-49 over the prior week (10.9 million and 4.0/9 on 1/14/07).
�Desperate Housewives� (9:00-10:01 p.m.)
ABC�s �Desperate Housewives� dominated its non-football competition at 9:00 p.m., outdistancing NBC�s �The Apprentice� by 10.2 million viewers (17.1 million vs. 6.9 million) and by 139% in Adults 18-49 (6.7/13 vs. 2.8/6).
� Facing stiff competition, �Desperate Housewives� grew its overall audience from the prior week (17.1 million vs. 16.8 million) and posted its highest rating since November with Women 18-34 (8.4/19) � since 11/26/06.
�Brothers & Sisters� (10:01-11:00 p.m.)
ABC�s �Brothers & Sisters� towered over its NBC drama competition during the 10 o�clock hour, outperforming �Crossing Jordan� by 4.2 million viewers (11.8 million vs. 7.6 million) and by 92% in Adults 18-49 (4.6/10 vs. 2.4/6).
� �Brothers & Sisters� garnered its top ratings in 9 weeks across all key women demographics: Women 18-34 (5.3/13), Women 18-49 (6.8/15) & Women 25-54 (7.8/16-tie) � since 11/19/06.
