NBC RATINGS RESULTS FOR THE WEEK OF MAY 21-27

BURBANK, Calif. � May 30, 2007 � NBC averaged a 1.9 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall for the week of May 21-27, according to "live plus same day" in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The "Heroes" season finale was the #1 scripted program of the week in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. "Heroes" ranked #4 among all shows in 18-49, behind only the two finale editions of "American Idol" and the "Dancing With the Stars" finale.

Primetime averages for the week of May 21-27 in adults 18-49 were Fox (4.4/14), ABC (3.0/9), CBS (2.2/7), NBC (1.9/6), Univision (1.6/5), CW (0.8/2) and Telemundo (0.5/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were Fox (11.6 million), CBS (9.0 million), ABC (8.9 million), NBC (5.6 million), Univision (3.7 million), CW (2.0 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

In regular program averages through 36 weeks of the 2006-07 broadcast year, NBC is running even with last year's average in adults 18-49 ratings (3.2 vs. 3.2). NBC and Fox, which is also even with last year, are the only networks matching their year-ago regular program averages. By that measure, ABC is down 8 percent (from a 3.9 last year to a 3.6 this year) and CBS is down 10 percent (from a 3.9 to a 3.5).

The 2006-07 primetime broadcast season concluded on Wednesday, May 23. Following are the 2006-07 primetime season averages for all programs for the period Sept. 18, 2006-May 23, 2007 in adults 18-49: Fox (4.0/11), CBS (3.7/10), ABC (3.5/9), NBC (3.1/8) and CW (1.3/3). In total viewers, the 2006-07 season averages for all programs are CBS (12.5 million), Fox (10.4 million), ABC (9.9 million), NBC (8.9 million) and CW (3.2 million).

NBC is the only major network to grow younger this season versus last. The median age of NBC's primetime audience this season is 48.2, which is 1.1 years younger than last season (49.3). NBC grew this season versus last by 10 percent among men 18-34 viewers and 8 percent among men 18-49.

The May 2007 sweep concluded on Wednesday, May 23. Following are complete 28-day May sweep averages (April 26-May 23, 2007) in adults 18-49: Fox (4.1/12), ABC (3.6/11), CBS (3.0/9), NBC (2.4/7), Univision (1.6/5), CW (1.2/3) and Telemundo (0.4/1). In total viewers, the May sweep averages are CBS (11.0 million), ABC (10.6 million), Fox (10.5 million), NBC (7.1 million), Univision (3.7 million), CW (2.9 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of May 21-27:

* On Monday, the season finale of "Heroes" was the #1 telecast of the night in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49, on a night with such original competition as the season finale of Fox's "24" and ABC's "Dancing With Stars" and "The Bachelor."

* This was the top-rated "Heroes" in 18-49 and total viewers since March 5 and the highest-rated Monday telecast on any network in 18-49 since the NCAA College Basketball Championship on April 2.

* "Heroes" was the #1 scripted program of the week in adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, ranking #4 among all shows in those demos. Among adults 18-34, "Heroes" ranked #3 among all shows, behind only the "Idol" finales. Among men 18-49, "Heroes" was the #3 show of the week and among men 18-34, "Heroes" ranked #2, trailing only Wednesday's "Idol" finale telecast. "Heroes" is the #1 new series of the season in 18-49, total viewers and most key ratings measures.

* On Friday, an encore telecast of "Law & Order" won its time period in adults 18-49 and other key measures.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of May 21-27:

On Monday, May 21 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Deal or No Deal" (3.1 rating, 9 share in adults 18-49, 9.9 million viewers overall) was up by 15 percent in 18-49 rating (3.1 vs. 2.7) and 13 percent in total viewers (9.9 million vs. 8.8 million) versus the prior week. From its first half-hour to its second, "Deal" grew by 48 percent in 18-49 (to a 3.7/10 from a 2.5/8) and by 34 percent in total viewers (to 11.3 million from 8.4 million).

Monday from 9-10:02 p.m. ET, the season finale of "Heroes" (6.2/15 in 18-49, 13.5 million viewers overall) was the #1 telecast of the night in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49 and other key demographics on a night that included such competition as the season finale of Fox's "24" and ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" and "The Bachelor."

This was the top-rated "Heroes" in adults 18-49, total viewers and other measures since March 5 and the top-rated Monday telecast on any network in 18-49 since the NCAA College Basketball Championship on CBS on April 2. Versus the prior week, "Heroes" was up 21 percent in adults 18-49 (6.2 vs. 5.3) and 17 percent in total viewers (13.5 million vs. 11.5 million).

"Heroes" dominated its competitive time period in adults 18-49 and other key measures. In adults 18-49, "Heroes" outperformed its nearest competitor in the time period, ABC's "The Bachelor" by 44 percent (6.2 vs. a 4.3 in that hour for "Batchelor"). "Heroes" topped the season finale of Fox's "24" by 51 percent in 18-49 (6.2 vs. 4.1 for "24" in that hour).

Monday from 10:01-11 p.m. ET, the sixth-season finale of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (3.0/8 in adults 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall) locked up that series highest 18-49 rating since Tuesday, January 9.

On Tuesday, May 22 at 8 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.5/4 in 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., an encore of the previous night's telecast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" averaged a 2.4/6 in 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall. This was up by 41 percent in 18-49 rating versus the average of "Criminal Intent" encores this season since the start of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" (2.2 vs. 1.5). This "Criminal Intent" encore was higher-rated than the previous three original telecasts to run in this time period.

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, the eighth-season finale of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (4.1/11 in 18-49, 10.3 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 71 percent in 18-49 rating and by 56 percent in total viewers.

NBC steadily built audience throughout Tuesday night, surging by 187 percent in adult 18-49 rating and growing by 96 percent in overall total viewers from the first to the final half-hour of primetime (to a 4.3/11 in 18-49 and 10.8 million viewers overall for the 10:30-11 p.m. half-hour from a 1.5/5 in 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers from 8-8:30 p.m.).

On Wednesday, May 23 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the special "Saturday Night Live in the '90s: Pop Culture Nation" averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49 and 4.1 million viewers overall, matching NBC's 18-49 average in the time period over the previous four weeks despite competition from the "American idol" finale. The special increased by 50 percent in 18-49 rating from its first half hour to its last (to a 2.1 from a 1.4). At 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 4.9 million viewers overall.

On Thursday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore "My Name is Earl" averaged a 1.8/7 in 18-49 and 5.3 million viewers overall. "Earl" ranked #2 in adults 18-34 and all key adult male demographics. At 8:30 p.m., a rebroadcast of "30 Rock" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 4.2 million viewers overall) retained 89 percent of its 18-49 lead-in. From 9-9:32 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Office" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 4.4 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 31 percent in adult 18-49 rating. From 9:32-10:06 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Scrubs" averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall. From 10:06-11 p.m., "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip" averaged a 1.6/5 in 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall.

On Friday, May 25 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" (1.5/6 in 18-49, 5.3 million viewers overall) was #2 in adults 18-49 and other key measures. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (1.5/5 in 18-49, 5.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in 18-49 and other measures.

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order" (1.7/6 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) was #1 in adults 18-49.

On Saturday, May 26 from 8-11 p.m. NBC's telecast of the movie "Chicago" averaged a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.2 million viewers overall.

On Sunday, May 26 from 7-9 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" averaged a 1.0/4 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall. "Dateline" built by 63 percent in 18-49 rating from its first to its final half hour. At 9 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Friday Night Lights" averaged a 0.7/2 in adults 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers overall. At 10 p.m., an encore "Law & Order; SVU" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.3 million viewers overall) built on its lead-in by 43 percent in 18-49 rating and by 49 percent in total viewers.
