'LAST COMIC STANDING' TIES 'DATELINE NBC' FOR WEDNESDAY'S #1 18-49 RATING ON ANY NETWORK

BURBANK, Calif. � September 11, 2007 � NBC has won the primetime week of September 3-9 in adults 18-49 and total viewers, with NBC Sports primetime coverage of NFL football scoring the #1 and #2 ratings of the week and the summer, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

NBC averaged a 3.0 rating and 9 share in 18-49 and 8.2 million viewers overall for the week, achieving the highest weeklong averages for any network this summer.

NBC has won two of the last three weeks in adults 18-49. The total viewers victory for September 3-9 is NBC's first since the week of January 1-7 and snaps a seven-week winning streak in that category for CBS.

Primetime averages for the week of September 3-9 in adults 18-49 were NBC (3.0/9), Fox (2.0/6), CBS (2.0/6), ABC (1.9/5), Univision (1.4/4), CW (0.7/2) and Telemundo (0.5/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were NBC (8.2 million), CBS (6.8 million), Fox (5.5 million), ABC (5.4 million), Univision (3.3 million), CW (1.9 million) and Telemundo (1.0 million). Note that Fox's averages currently do not include Sunday's NFL overrun, and figures may be adjusted when the overrun results are added by Nielsen.

NBC highlights for the week of September 3-9:

* On Sunday, the regular season debut of "NBC Sunday Night Football" delivered the top 18-49 and total-viewers results for any telecast on any network this summer.

* The Sunday game, featuring the New York Giants and Dallas Cowboys, boosted NBC to the highest Sunday nightlong results for any network in 18-49 and total viewers since the Academy Awards on February 25.

* On Thursday, NBC's coverage of the "NFL Opening Kickoff" NFL game delivered NBC's highest-rated night in 18-49 since Saturday, Jan. 6, and top-scoring night in total viewers since Monday, Jan. 15.

* The Thursday game, featuring the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts, dominated the night, delivering 8-11 p.m. winning margins of 144 percent in 18-49 and 81 percent in total viewers.

* On Tuesday, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" tied for #1 in the 10 p.m. hour in adults 18-49 and was #1 outright in other key ratings categories.

* NBC won Wednesday in 18-49, as "Last Comic Standing" and "Dateline NBC" tied for the night's #1 rating on any network.

* Also on Wednesday, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" pulled within a tenth of a point of the slot win in 18-49 and won the time period in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demographics opposite CBS's original "Power of 10."

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of September 3-9:

On Monday, Sept. 3 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Thank God You're Here" averaged a 1.1 rating, 3 share in adults 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., an encore telecast of "Heroes" averaged a 0.9/2 in 18-49 and 2.5 million viewers overall. And at 10 p.m., "Dateline NBC" delivered a 1.6/4 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall. "Dateline" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 78 percent.

On Tuesday, Sept. 4 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Singing Bee" averaged a 1.8/6 in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Singing Bee" increased its 18-49 rating by 33 percent (to a 2.0/6 from a 1.5/5). "Singing Bee" won the time period in men 18-34.

At 9 p.m. ET Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser: Did They Keep the Weight Off?" averaged a 2.4/6 in 18-49 and 6.4 million viewers overall. From its first half-hour to its second, "Biggest Loser" increased its 18-49 rating by 18 percent (to a 2.6/7 from a 2.2/6). "Biggest Loser" finished #2 or tied for #2 in the time period in all key adult-female demographics.

Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (2.1/6 in 18-49, 6.1 million viewers overall) tied for #1 in 18-49 and is #1 outright in adults 18-34 and all key adult-female demos.

On Wednesday, Sept. 5 from 8-9 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" (1.9/6 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) finished a close #2 for the time period in 18-49, a tenth of a rating point behind CBS' first-run "Power of 10." "Most Outrageous Moments" also won the time period in adults 18-34 and all key adult-male demos. From its first half-hour to its second, "Most Outrageous Moments" increased its 18-49 rating by 29 percent (to a 2.2/7 from a 1.7/6). Versus the prior Wednesday's 1.6/5 in 18-49, "Most Outrageous Moments" was up 19 percent.

At 9 p.m. ET Wednesday, "Last Comic Standing" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 6.2 million viewers overall) won the time period in 18-49 and most other key demos and tied "Dateline NBC" for the night's #1 rating on any network in 18-49. "Last Comic" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 26 percent.

Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET, "Dateline NBC" (2.4/7 in 18-49, 7.4 million viewers overall) won the time period in 18-49 and finished #1 or tied for #1 in all other key demos. It's the seventh time in nine telecasts "Dateline" has won this time period in 18-49 (including a tie). "Dateline" tied NBC's "Last Comic Standing" for Wednesday night's #1 rating on any network in 18-49. Versus the prior Wednesday's 1.9/6 in 18-49, "Dateline" is up week-to-week by 26 percent. In total viewers, the week-to-week increase is 31 percent (7.4 million vs. 5.7 million). This was "Dateline's" top Wednesday 18-49 rating since August 8 and biggest overall audience for any Wednesday "Dateline" this summer.

NBC won Wednesday night in 18-49 and other key categories, its second Wednesday 18-49 victory in three weeks.

On Thursday, Sept. 6 from 8-8:30 p.m. ET, NBC's "NFL Kickoff 2007" special (3.3/12 in 18-49, 8.8 million viewers overall, 5.8/11 in households) improved on last year's 18-49 rating by 3 percent and won the time period in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, total viewers and other key categories. From 8:30-8:45 p.m., NBC's "Pre-Kick" program (5.2/18 in 18-49, 13.6 million viewers overall, 8.8/16 in households) also ranked #1 in adults 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54, total viewers and other key categories.

Thursday from 8:40-11:15 p.m. ET, NBC Sports coverage of the "NFL Opening Kickoff" game between the New Orleans Saints and the Super Bowl Champion Indianapolis Colts (7.4/22 in 18-49, 17.8 million viewers overall, 11.5/20 in households) dominated the night, delivering the second-highest 18-49 rating and biggest overall audience for any primetime telecast on any broadcast network this summer, behind only the September 9 telecast of "NBC Sunday Night Football."

Despite the most lopsided outcome ever for the Thursday night season-opening game (Colts 41, Saints 10), NBC ruled primetime in every key ratings category, with winning margins of 144 percent in 18-49 (6.6 from 8-11 p.m. vs. 2.7 for CBS and Fox) and 81 percent in total viewers (16.2 million from 8-11 p.m. vs. 9.0 million for second-place CBS). In men 18-49, NBC beat the combined broadcast network competition by 62 percent (8.6 vs. a 5.2 for ABC, CBS, Fox and CW combined). Thursday was NBC's highest-rated night in 18-49 since Saturday, Jan. 6 (NFL Playoffs) and top-scoring night in total viewers since Monday, Jan. 15 (Golden Globe Awards).

Thursday football gave NBC the strongest night for any network this summer in 18-49, total viewers and other key categories. Versus NBC's overall summer Thursday average, the night was up 313 percent in 18-49 and 319 percent in total viewers. Football scored NBC's highest Thursday averages in 18-49 and total viewers in 12 months (since September 7, 2006).

On Friday, Sept. 7 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "1 vs 100" (1.3/5 in 18-49, 5.4 million viewers overall) tied for #2 in the time period in 18-49, tied for #1 among adults 25-54 and was #1 outright among total viewers.

At 9 p.m. ET Friday, an encore of "Las Vegas" averaged a 1.1/4 in 18-49 and 4.0 million viewers overall. "Las Vegas" matched its highest 18-49 rating since July 20.

Friday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (1.4/4 in 18-49, 5.2 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in the time period in 18-49 and total viewers. "SVU" built on its 18-49 lead-in by 27 percent.

On Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Most Outrageous Moments" delivered a 0.8/3 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall. At 8:30, "The NBC Primetime Preview Show" averaged a 0.6/2 in 18-49 and 2.3 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., a "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" rebroadcast averaged a 1.0/3 in 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall.

Saturday at 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "Medium" (1.0/3 in 18-49, 3.6 million viewers overall) tracked down the show's highest 18-49 and total viewers results in seven Saturday telecasts this summer.

On Sunday, Sept. 9, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" regular-season debut, featuring the New York Giants versus the Dallas Cowboys, averaged a 7.6/20 in adults 18-49, 18.2 million viewers overall and an 11.6/19 household rating and share from 8:24-11: 26 p.m. ET.

The Giants-Cowboys game scored the highest 18-49 and total-viewer results for any telecast on any network this summer. In 18-49, it's NBC's highest-rated telecast since the Saturday, Jan. 6 Cowboys-Seahawks NFL Playoff game. In total viewers, it's NBC's top telecast since the Monday, March 5 edition of "Deal or No Deal."

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:57 p.m. ET averaged a 2.3/7 18-49, 5.7 million viewers overall and a 3.7 rating, 7 share in households. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:57-8:15 p.m. delivered a 3.7/11 in 18-49, 9.2 million viewers overall and a 5.9/10 in households. From 8:15-8:24 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 5.0/14 in 18-49, 12.4 million viewers overall and a 8.0/13 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.

NBC won the night in adults 18-49, total viewers and all other key measures, delivering the highest nightlong Sunday averages for any network since February 25, the night of the Academy Awards on ABC. NBC's margins of victory Sunday night were 103 percent in 18-49 (6.5 vs. 3.2 for second-place Fox) and 87 percent in total viewers (15.6 million vs. 8.4 million for second-place CBS). Versus NBC's overall summer Sunday average, the night was up 282 percent in 18-49 and 168 percent in total viewers. .
