"60 MINUTES" DRAWS ITS LARGEST AUDIENCE IN ALMOST TWO YEARS AND RANKS THIRD FOR THE WEEK
"60 MINUTES" drew its largest audience in almost two years last Sunday (4), ranking the broadcast third for the week on Nielsen's Top 10 list.
Sunday's 19.24 million viewers was the number-one news magazine's best delivery in that category since Dec. 11, 2005. It was also its best delivery in the key demos of adults 25-54 (6.1/14) and adults 18-49 (5.0/12) since that date. In households, 60 MINUTES' 11.9/19 was its best since Nov. 19, 2006, tying CBS' CSI for fourth in that category on the Nielsen weekly list.
Last Sunday's broadcast featured a Bob Simon investigation of the Iraqi fabricator known as Curve Ball, whose lies about biological weapons drove the argument for war in Iraq; a Scott Pelley report on elephant poaching; and Lesley's Stahl's profile of Silicon Valley venture capitalist Tom Perkins.
