January 23, 2008 (Burbank, CA) - ONE TREE HILL scored improvements for The CW on multiple levels, making week-to-week gains as well as scoring year-to-year improvements in the time period and for the series in key demos, according to preliminary live plus same day Nielsen ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2008.
ONE TREE HILL improved over last week's original telecast by 15% in viewers (3.1mil), 6% in adults 18-34 (1.9/5), 4% in women 18-34 (2.6/6), 6% in women 18-49 (1.8/4), 6% in teens (1.8/5), 4% in female teens (2.7/8). One Tree Hill matched last week's original in adults 18-49 (1.3/3).
ONE TREE HILL scored year-to-year gains in The CW's Tuesday 9:00-10:00p.m. time period with growth of 27% in adults 18-34, 18% in women 18-34, 20% in teens and 17% in female teens over an original "Veronica Mars" last year (1/24/07).
In its fifth season, ONE TREE HILL continues to grow with increases of 27% in adults 18-34, 22% in women 18-34, 30% in adults 18-49, 29% in women 18-49 and 29% in total viewers versus ONE TREE HILL's original telecast last year (Wednesday 1/25/07 at 9:00-10:00p.m.) which benefited from an original BEAUTY AND THE GEEK lead-in.
ONE TREE HILL ranked third in its time period among adults 18-34, women 18-34, teens and female teens, behind only Fox and NBC. Overall, The CW placed third on Tuesday in adults 18-34 (1.3/3), women 18-34 (1.6/4), teens (1.2/4) and female teens (1.6/5).
