Against Fox's "Moment of Truth" at 9pm, "Supernanny" Grows Week to Week in Viewers and All Key Adults, and Finishes Second in Adults 18-34 and Key Women

Airing against Fox's "American Idol" and the series premiere of "Moment of Truth," ABC earned second place on Wednesday with Women 18-34 (2.5/7) for the second week in a row.
� ABC was up over the year-ago Wednesday (1/24/07) that also featured an all-original schedule by 1.0 million viewers (6.1 million vs. 5.1 million) and by 22% in Adults 18-49 (2.2/6 vs. 1.8/5). From 8:00-10:00 p.m. among Adults 18-49 with "Wife Swap" and "Supernanny," ABC was up by 35% from the year-ago night in the 2-hour time period (2.3/6 vs. 1.7/4).
"Wife Swap" (8:00-9:00 p.m.)
At 8 p.m., "Wife Swap" outperformed CBS' "Power of 10" in the hour by 1.7 million viewers (5.6 million vs. 3.9 million) and by 111% in Adults 18-49 (1.9/5 vs. 0.9/2).
"Supernanny" (9:00-10:00 p.m.)
Opposite the series premiere of Fox's "Moment of Truth," "Supernanny" posted week-to-week increases in Total Viewers (7.1 million vs. 6.0 million) and across each of the key adult demographics: [Adults 18-34 (2.3/6 vs. 2.2/6), Adults 18-49 (2.7/6 vs. 2.4/6) and Adults 25-54 (3.0/7 vs. 2.6/6)], Teens 12-17 (1.7/5 vs. 1.1/3) and Kids 2-11 (1.3/5 vs. 1.2/5). "Supernanny" finished second in the hour among Adults 18-34 (2.3/6), Women 18-34 (3.1/8) and Women 18-49 (3.8/9).
� Compared to the Net's performance in the hour on the year-ago night with original comedies ("Knights of Prosperity"/"In Case of Emergency"), "Supernanny" improved the time period by 3.8 million viewers and by 108% in Adults 18-49 (3.3 million and 1.3/3 on 1/24/07).
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year to year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has nearly doubled from just over 11% at the same point in 2006, approaching 22% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. Therefore, the only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
