CBS was Number One in viewers and adults 25-54 and just -0.1 of a rating from first in adults 18-49 led by the return of the Network's scripted hits and an assist from Saturday's coverage of the NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL FOUR, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 6, week 28 of the 2007-2008 television season.
CBS returned to the winner's circle in viewers for the first time since the week ending Jan. 13. CBS also was first in adults 25-54 for the first time since the week ending Dec. 23, 2007 and finished just -0.1 of a rating point out of first in adults 18-49, its best competitive position since the week ending Dec. 16, 2007.
For the week in viewers: CBS (11.53m) topped FOX (9.62m), ABC (7.61m) and NBC (6.29m). Season-to-date, CBS is second in viewers (10.50m), behind FOX (11.40m) and ahead of ABC (9.21m) and NBC (8.41m).
For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and a close second in adults 18-49 (3.4/10, -0.1 behind FOX). Season-to-date, CBS is second in adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (3.0/08, with both NBC and ABC).
For the week in households: CBS (7.2/12) outpaced FOX (5.9/10, +22%), ABC (4.9/08, +47%) and NBC (4.2/07, +71%). Season-to-date, CBS is tied for first (6.7/11, with FOX) and +14% ahead of ABC (5.9/10) and +24% ahead of NBC (5.4/09).

Compared to the program's live plus same day first-run average this season (when the program did not air against "American Idol"), CRIMINAL MINDS retained 88% of both its households (from 9.3/14) and adults 25-54 (from 5.1/12) performances, 89% of adults 18-49 (from 3.8/10) and 87% of viewers (from 14.67m).
? CSI: NY finished first in households (8.2/14), viewers (12.85m), adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10). CSI: NY topped the combined competition in viewers (by +8%), adults 18-49 (by +6%) and adults 25-54 (by +7%).
