"Cold Case" Posts Increases Over Last Week's First-Run Return

CBS was Number One in viewers and adults 25-54 and just -0.1 of a rating from first in adults 18-49 led by the return of the Network's scripted hits and an assist from Saturday's coverage of the NCAA MEN'S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL FOUR, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending April 6, week 28 of the 2007-2008 television season.

CBS returned to the winner's circle in viewers for the first time since the week ending Jan. 13. CBS also was first in adults 25-54 for the first time since the week ending Dec. 23, 2007 and finished just -0.1 of a rating point out of first in adults 18-49, its best competitive position since the week ending Dec. 16, 2007.

For the week in viewers: CBS (11.53m) topped FOX (9.62m), ABC (7.61m) and NBC (6.29m). Season-to-date, CBS is second in viewers (10.50m), behind FOX (11.40m) and ahead of ABC (9.21m) and NBC (8.41m).

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and a close second in adults 18-49 (3.4/10, -0.1 behind FOX). Season-to-date, CBS is second in adults 25-54 (3.8/09) and tied for second in adults 18-49 (3.0/08, with both NBC and ABC).

For the week in households: CBS (7.2/12) outpaced FOX (5.9/10, +22%), ABC (4.9/08, +47%) and NBC (4.2/07, +71%). Season-to-date, CBS is tied for first (6.7/11, with FOX) and +14% ahead of ABC (5.9/10) and +24% ahead of NBC (5.4/09).

-- Monday, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (5.5/13), adults 18-49 (4.4/11), adults 18-34 (3.0/09), second in households (8.0/12) and viewers (12.72m). This is the second consecutive Monday win for CBS in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? BIG BANG THEORY finished second in households (5.3/08), viewers (8.44m), adults 25-54 (3.8/10) and adults 18-49 (3.1/09).

? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was second in households (5.8/09), viewers (9.50m), adults 25-54 (4.6/11) and adults 18-49 (4.0/10).

? TWO AND A HALF MEN was tied for first in adults 18-49 (5.4/13, with ABC), second in households (8.8/13), viewers (14.50m), adults 25-54 (6.6/15) and adults 18-34 (3.6/10, -0.1 behind ABC). Compared to last week, TWO AND A HALF MEN was up +2% in households (from 8.6/13), +4% in adults 18-49 (from 5.2/13), +13% in adults 18-34 (from 3.2/09), even in adults 25-54 while adding +260,000 viewers (from 14.24m, +2%). TWO AND A HALF MEN was the night's Number One program in adults18-49.

? THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE was first in households (8.0/12), viewers (12.57m), adults 25-54 (5.7/13) and adults 18-49 (4.5/11). THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE was up +29% in households (from 6.2/09), +19% in adults 25-54 (from 4.8/11), +18% in adults 18-49 (from 3.8/09) and added +2.80m viewers (from 9.77m, +29%) compared to last week. THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE posted season highs in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

? CSI: MIAMI was first in households (10.1/16), viewers (15.65m), adults 25-54 (6.0/14) and adults 18-49 (4.9/12). Compared to the program's first run return last week, CSI: MIAMI was 100% of its season best adults 18-49 delivery, 98% of households, 97% of viewers and 95% of its adults 25-54 performance.

? CSI: MIAMI TUESDAY SPECIAL (S) easily won its time slot in households (9.1/15), viewers (14.23m), adults 25-54 (5.5/14) and adults 18-49 (4.1/11) This is CBS's best delivery with a drama in this hour since Feb. 25, 2003 in viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 ("Judging Amy").

? CRIMINAL MINDS was second in households (8.2/13), viewers (12.81m), adults 25-54 (4.5/10) and adults 18-49 (3.4/08) - all behind "American Idol". Compared to the program's live plus same day first-run average this season (when the program did not air against "American Idol"), CRIMINAL MINDS retained 88% of both its households (from 9.3/14) and adults 25-54 (from 5.1/12) performances, 89% of adults 18-49 (from 3.8/10) and 87% of viewers (from 14.67m).

? CSI: NY finished first in households (8.2/14), viewers (12.85m), adults 25-54 (4.7/12) and adults 18-49 (3.6/10). CSI: NY topped the combined competition in viewers (by +8%), adults 18-49 (by +6%) and adults 25-54 (by +7%). Compared to the program's live plus same day first-run average this season, CSI: NY was even in adults 25-54 and retained 98% of both its households (from 8.4/14) and viewers (from 13.09m) totals and 97% of adults 18-49 (from 3.7/10).

-- CBS was first Thursday night in households (9.9/16), viewers (16.24), adults 25-54 (6.0/15) and adults 18-49 (4.6/13). CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49. This is CBS's best Thursday delivery in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 since Dec. 13, 2007.

? SURVIVOR: MICRONESIA was first in households (7.4/12), viewers (12.87m), adults 25-54 (5.1/13) and adults 18-49 (4.0/12) - against first run programming on NBC, ABC and FOX.

? CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION returned with a first run episode and a time period win in households (12.4/20), viewers (20.58m), adults 25-54 (7.7/19) and adults 18-49 (5.9/15). Compared to the program's season-to-date average (live plus same day), CSI retained 98% of its households (from 12.7/19), 99% of adults 25-54 (from 7.8/17), 95% in adults 18-49 (from 6.2/15) and almost 100% of its viewers (from 20.69m).
