Snapped Celebrates Its Highest Rated and Most Watched Episode Ever
NEW YORK -- April 8, 2008. Sunday's "Snapped" premiere episode ("Michelle Michael") generated series high results on several key measures. Currently in its most successful season ever, Sunday's episode delivered a series high 1.0 HH rating. The show also saw record viewership for the series among key demos including W18-49 (414,000), P18-49 (534,000) and total viewers (848,000). Compared to the "Snapped" season five average, Sunday's premiere was ahead by 117% with W18-49, 102% with P18-49 and 60% among total viewers.
A marathon of the "Seven Deadliest Snapped" episodes built momentum for Sunday's premiere episode. This marathon, coupled with the success of this season of "Snapped" led to Sunday's milestone. Immediately following "Snapped" on Sunday, "Captured" saw its highest rated (0.8 HH) and most watched telecast ever among W18-49 (345,000), P18-49 (450,000) and total viewers (693,000).
Now in its sixth season, "Snapped" continues to pull in viewers, averaging 315,000 P18-49, up 19% from Season Five, and 557,000 total viewers, up 5% from the prior season average. "Snapped" is one of Oxygen's original series whose success contributed to making last quarter the network's best.
Oxygen.com's numbers also spiked as a result of Sunday's "Snapped" premiere episode. For "Snapped" season six to date, the show site has generated 337,373 page views, a 253% increase compared to "Snapped" season five (95,516 page views). "Snapped's" video streams are up 165% for season six with 274,872 to date compared to 103,859 for all of season five.
