The Six Recent "Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectaculars" All Won Their Time Period in Viewers and Key Demographics
The March 7 Broadcast Delivered the Largest Audience for a "Price" Primetime Special (Excluding Bob Barker's Primetime Farewell) Since 2003
With a new host (Drew Carey), more chances to win $1 million and a sharper, crisper picture thanks to its first-ever high definition broadcasts, THE PRICE IS RIGHT in prime time.
The six most recent Friday PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULARS, broadcast in February, March and April, each won their time periods in viewers, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings.
The March 7 broadcast, which delivered 10.26 million viewers, represented the largest audience for a PRICE IS RIGHT primetime special (excluding Bob Barker's farewell primetime special last May 16) since Dec. 18, 2003.
The first of four new May sweep PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULARS specials airs on Wednesday, April 30 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). Three more PRICE IS RIGHT MILLION DOLLAR SPECTACULARS are slated for May 7, May 14 and May 21 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT).
"We've worked at keeping the show's traditional elements that our longtime fans are familiar with while updating the games and sets to appeal to a new audience," said Barbara Bloom, Senior Vice President, Daytime, CBS Entertainment, responsible for both the daytime and primetime editions of 'The Price is Right.'
