SCI FI HAS BEST MAY EVER ACROSS KEY MEASURES
Ranks #5 Among 18-49 And 25-54
NEW YORK � May 28, 2008 � Building on a year of unprecedented growth, SCI FI not only had double digit gains in most key demographics vs. last year, but also scored its best May ever among Adults 18-34, 18-49, 25-54, Total Viewers, Men 18-34, 18-49, 25-54 and Women 18-49 and 25-54.
Additionally, SCI FI was the 5th ranked basic cable entertainment network among both Adults 18-49 and 25-54. SCI FI also ranked in the top ten among total viewers, Men 18-49 and 25-54, and Women 25-54.
In May 2008, SCI FI averaged a 1.0 household rating and was up year over year among Adults 18-49 (614,000 up 13%), 25-54 (681,000 up 12%), 18-34 (229,000 up 3%), and total viewers (1,257,000 up 14%). SCI FI was up in key male demos, including 18-34 (+10%), 18-49 (+6%), and 25-54(+4%) and among females 18-49 (+24%) and 25-54 (+25%) compared to May 07.
May program highlights include:
On Saturday 5/17/08, SCI FI's airing of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was not only the #1 cable entertainment telecast for the day, it was the top cable entertainment telecast for the entire week with 2.385 MM Adults 25-54. Among Adults18-49, the film's 2.05 MM viewer delivery was also the #1 performance for any program on Saturday. This is the top movie performance in SCI FI history (excluding original miniseries) in household ratings and Adults 25-54. In 8pm-11pm prime, SCI FI had its best Saturday ever, and out-delivered CBS, ABC and NBC in the 8-11pm time period.
The Sunday 5/18/08 run of Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was the day's #1 telecast with 2.13MM Adults 25-54 and 2.07 MM Adults 18-49. This is the channel's top movie telecast of all time among Adults18-49, topping Saturday's showing by 25,000 viewers.
The premiere of the SCI FI original special Mystery of the Crystal Skulls hosted by Lester Holt on the same night is SCI FI's top documentary special of all time, delivering 1.46MM Adults 25-54 and 1.4MM Adults 18-49.
