WEEK No. 46:
Rankings: ABC claimed 2 of the week's Top 20 TV shows in Adults 18-49: "Wipeout" No. 8 and
"I Survived a Japanese Game Show" No. 20. ABC News aired TV's Top 2 news programs of the week in Adults 18-49 and Adults 25-54 with Thursday's "Hopkins" and Wednesday's "Primetime: China Inside Out Bob Woodruff Reports," respectively. In fact, it is the 5th straight week that ABC News has aired the Top 2 news programs of the week in Adults 18-49.
A note about increasing DVR penetration and year-to-year rating comparisons: Year-to-year rating trends based on the Live + Same Day data stream may be somewhat distorted by the level of DVR penetration in the Nielsen sample, which has jumped from 18% at the same point in 2006-07, up to 26% currently. More viewers are watching shows on their own timetables, which may not be reflected in the overnight next day numbers. The only truly valid year-to-year comparison would be one based on the Live + 7 Day metric, once those stats are released by Nielsen.
Tuesday
ABC's Tuesday finished second on the night in Adults 18-49 (2.2/6). The Net also took second among Women 18-49 (2.5/7), Men 18-49 (1.9/6) and Adults 25-54 (2.4/6-tie).
