DEAL OR NO DEAL RISES TO RECORD RATINGS
#1 New Syndicated Series Grows For Third Consecutive Week; Scores Best-Ever Household Ratings, Total Viewers and Key Demos
LOS ANGELES � November 4, 2008 - NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution and Endemol USA's new half-hour, five-day-a-week version of "Deal or No Deal" scored its best national ratings to date during the week of October 20th, hitting highs in households, total viewers and all key demographics, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
"Deal or No Deal," the #1 new first-run show in national syndication, delivered a season-best 2.4 HH rating (GAA), rising 9% from the previous week and 26% from its premiere week, while showing growth for the third consecutive week.
"Deal" also averaged a best-ever 3.4 million viewers and scored all-time highs in both Women 18-49 (1.2) and Women 25-54 (1.3).
"Deal" continues to have the youngest median age of all syndicated game shows and the highest concentration of women 18-49, women 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 among all syndicated games, as well. And "Deal or No Deal" is the highest-rated game show launch in six years.
Hosted by Howie Mandel, who continues to host NBC's primetime version of "Deal or No Deal," the new syndicated edition is sold in more than 97% of the U.S. for its first season.
The new syndicated version features all the key elements of the hit primetime series, including models, contestants taking big risks and having the chance to win a life-changing amount of money, the Banker, Mandel as host and the same award-winning production team from Endemol USA and Executive Producer Scott St. John.
Based on the successful format from Endemol that has aired in more than 50 countries, "Deal or No Deal" is produced by Endemol USA, a division of Endemol Holding and distributed in national syndication by NBC Universal Domestic Television Distribution.
