NBC RESULTS FOR THE PRIMETIME WEEK OF NOV. 24-30

THE 'NBC SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL' BEARS-VIKINGS GAME IS THE #1 TELECAST OF THE WEEK IN ADULTS 18-49, ADULTS 18-34 AND ALL KEY ADULT-MALE DEMOS

'BIGGEST LOSER' AND 'LAW & ORDER: SVU' ON TUESDAY DELIVER SOLID RESULTS AND HALF-HOUR TO HALF-HOUR GROWTH AGAINST TOUGH COMPETITION

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. � December 2, 2008 � Paced by "NBC Sunday Night Football," which was the #1 primetime program of the week in adults 18-49 and other key demos, NBC averaged a 2.4 rating, 7 share in adults 18-49 and 6.6 million viewers overall for the week of November 24-30, according to in-home viewing figures from Nielsen Media Research.

The "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Chicago Bears at the Minnesota Vikings was the #1 primetime program of the week in primetime's key demographic of adults 18-49. It was also the #1 primetime program of the week in adults 18-34 and in all key adult-male demographics � men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 (excludes Fox's Thanksgiving Day NFL game which aired outside of primetime).

Through the first ten weeks of the 2008-09 season, NBC is now the "second youngest" of the major broadcast networks, with a median age of 45.8 years, only 0.6 years "older" than Fox (45.2 years). By comparison, ABC's median age is 50.6 and CBS's median age is 53.5. Season to date, NBC is running within 0.1 of a rating point of first place in adults 18-34 and 0.4 of a rating point of first place in adults 18-49.

Primetime averages for the week of November 24-30 in adults 18-49 were ABC and CBS (2.9/8), NBC (2.4/7), Fox (2.3/6), Univision (1.4/4), CW and Telemundo (0.5/1). In overall total viewers the weekly averages were CBS (11.0 million), ABC (10.3 million), NBC (6.6 million), Fox (6.1 million), Univision (3.8 million), CW (1.4 million) and Telemundo (1.1 million).

The 28-night Nielsen November sweep concluded on Wednesday, November 26 (for the measurement period October 30-November 26, 2008). "NBC Sunday Night Football" was the #1 primetime series in adults 18-49 during the sweep in "live plus same day" results. The November 2008 sweep averages in adults 18-49 were: ABC (3.2/9), CBS (3.1/8), NBC (2.8/8), Fox (2.7/7) and CW (0.9/2). In adults 18-34, November 2008 sweep averages were: ABC and Fox (2.5/8), NBC (2.5/7), CBS (2.0/6) and CW (1.1/3). In total viewers, the 28-night November sweep averages were CBS (11.8 million), ABC (10.5 million), NBC (7.7 million), Fox (7.1 million) and CW (2.0 million).

NBC highlights for the week of November 24-30:

* On Monday, "Heroes" was the #1 program in its highly competitive time period in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49. Of note, "Heroes" has been adding an average 20 percent to its 18-49 rating when "live plus seven day" results are reported.

* On Tuesday, "Law & Order: SVU" delivered solid results, growing 13 percent in 18-49 rating and 10 percent in total viewers from half-hour to half-hour despite extraordinary competition from the concluding hour of the "Dancing With the Stars" finale.

* Also on Tuesday, "The Biggest Loser" gained 35 percent in 18-49 rating and 22 percent in total viewers from its first half-hour to its fourth, despite intense competition from ABC's "Dancing With the Stars," CBS's "NCIS" and "The Mentalist" and Fox's "House" and "Fringe."

* On Thursday, NBC's Thanksgiving Night encore telecast of the 2004 feature film "The Incredibles" grew by 46 percent in adults 18-49 and 50 percent in total viewers from its first half-hour to its last, to rank #1 among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 (tied), adults 18-34 and other key demos in its final half-hour.

* On Saturday, an encore telecast of the 2004 feature comedy "Along Came Polly," starring Ben Stiller and Jennifer Aniston, scored NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results of the season in its time period.

* The "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Chicago Bears at the Minnesota Vikings propelled NBC to a Sunday night win in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and in all key adult-male demographics.

* This week's "Sunday Night Football" Bears-Vikings game was up 7 percent in 18-49 rating and 11 percent in total viewers versus the comparable game last season.

Ratings reflect "live plus same day" data unless otherwise noted. Season-to-date figures are averages of "live plus seven day" data except for the two most recent weeks, which are "live plus same day."

Additional NBC highlights for the week of November 24-30:

On Monday, Nov. 24 from 8-9 p.m. ET, "Chuck" (2.4 rating, 6 share in adults 18-49, 6.5 million viewers overall) increased from its first half-hour to its second by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to 2.6/6 from 2.3/6) and 5 percent in total viewers (to 6.7 million from 6.4 million).

Monday at 9 p.m. ET, "Heroes" (3.7/8 in adults 18-49, 7.5 million viewers overall) was #1 in its highly competitive time period in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49. "Heroes" built on its lead-in from the previous hour by 46 percent in adult 18-49 rating and by 85 percent in adults 18-34 (to a 3.7 from a 2.0). In its second half-hour from 9:30-10 p.m., "Heroes" ranked #1 in adults 18-49, adults and women 18-34 and all key adult-male demos � men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. From its first half-hour to its second, "Heroes" increased by 12 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.7/9 from a 3.3/8).

It is worth noting that "Heroes" has been adding an average 20 percent to its 18-49 rating when going from "live plus same day" to "live plus seven day" results. In total viewers, "Heroes" has been adding an average 1.7 million viewers overall to its previously reported "live plus same day" numbers.

Monday at 10 p.m. ET, "My Own Worst Enemy" averaged a 1.7/4 in 18-49 and 3.7 million viewers overall.

On Tuesday, Nov. 25 from 8-10 p.m. ET, "The Biggest Loser 6" (2.6/7 in 18-49, 6.9 million viewers overall) increased from its first half-hour to its fourth by 35 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.1/8 from a 2.3/6) and by 22 percent or more than 1.3 million persons in total viewers (to 7.7 million from 6.4 million).

Tuesday from 10-11 p.m. ET, "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (3.2/9 in 18-49, 8.6 million viewers overall) grew by 13 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 3.4/9 from a 3.0/8) and by 10 percent in total viewers (to 9.0 million from 8.2 million), despite facing extraordinary competition in the time slot from the final hour of ABC's "Dancing With the Stars" finale.

On Wednesday, Nov. 26 from 8-9 p.m. ET, the special "Rosie Live" averaged a 1.2/4 in 18-49 and 5.0 million viewers overall. At 9 p.m., "Deal or No Deal" (1.6/5 in 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) earned NBC's highest overall viewership in the slot in four weeks (since October 29). From its first half-hour to its second, "Deal" increased by 29 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.8/5 from a 1.4/4) and by 28 percent or 1.5 million persons in total viewers (to 7.1 million from 5.6 million). At 10 p.m. ET, "Law & Order" averaged a 1.7/5 in 18-49 and 6.3 million viewers overall. In total viewers, "Law & Order" improved on NBC's season average in this time period prior to "Law & Order" by 22 percent (6.3 million vs. 5.1 million; excludes news coverage).

On Thursday, Nov. 27 from 8-10:30 p.m. ET, NBC's encore telecast of the 2004 feature film "The Incredibles" (1.6/5, 4.5 million viewers overall) grew from its first to its final half-hour by 46 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.9/6 from a 1.3/4) and by 50 percent or more than 1.7 million persons in total viewers (to 5.3 million from 3.6 million). In its final half-hour from 10-10:30 p.m., "The Incredibles" ranked #1 among the broadcast networks in adults 18-49 (tied), adults 18-34 and other key demographics. From 10:30-11 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Office" delivered a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 3.4 million viewers overall. "The Office" was #1 in the time period in adults, men and women 18-34.

On Friday, Nov. 28 from 8-10:30 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of "The Incredibles" averaged a 1.2/4 in 18-49 and 3.3 million viewers overall, ranking #1 in the time period among men 18-34. From its first half-hour to its fifth, "The Incredibles" increased by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5/4 from a 1.0/3). At 10:30 p.m., an encore telecast of "The Office" delivered a 0.9/3 and 2.2 million viewers overall, ranking #1 among the broadcast networks in men 18-34 (tied).

On Saturday, Nov. 29 from 8-10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the 2004 movie "Along Came Polly" (1.3/4 in 18-49, 4.6 million viewers overall) scored NBC's highest 18-49 and total-viewer results in this time period this season. From its first half-hour to its fourth, "Polly" increased by 50 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5/4 from a 1.0/3). At 10 p.m., a rebroadcast of "Law & Order: SVU" (1.2/3 in 18-49 and 4.6 million viewers overall) ranked #2 in adults, men and women 18-34.

On Sunday, Nov. 30, the "NBC Sunday Night Football" telecast of the Chicago Bears at the Minnesota Vikings averaged a 6.1/14 in adults 18-49, 15.9 million viewers overall and a 9.6/15 household rating/share for its full duration from 8:24-11:16 p.m. ET.

Sunday's Bears-Vikings game was up 7 percent in 18-49 rating and 11 percent in total viewers versus the comparable game last year (a 5.7/13 in 18-49 and 14.4 million viewers overall for the Bengals-Steelers on December 2, 2007).

"NBC Sunday Night Football" was the #1 primetime telecast on Sunday in adults 18-49 and other key demographic measures, propelling NBC to a Sunday night win in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and in all key adult-male demos � men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54. For the night (from 7:30-11 p.m. ET), NBC averaged a 5.2/12 in 18-49 and 13.7 million viewers overall.

Also on Sunday, "Football Night in America 2" from 7:30-7:58 p.m. ET averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49, 5.1 million viewers overall and a 3.2/5 household rating/share. "Football Night in America 3" from 7:57-8:15 p.m. delivered a 3.0/8 in 18-49, 8.2 million viewers overall and a 5.0/8 in households. From 8:15-8:24 p.m., "NBC Sunday Night Football Pre Kickoff" averaged a 4.0/10 in 18-49, 10.8 million viewers overall and a 6.6/10 in households. Note: "Football Night in America" from 7-7:30 p.m. ET was sustaining programming and does not figure in the nightly or weekly primetime averages.
