CBS placed first for the week in viewers and key demographics and posted year-to-year gains for the fifth consecutive week, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending Dec. 14, week 12 of the 2008-2009 television season.
CBS extended its viewer winning streak to 11 consecutive weeks, 7th straight win in adults 25-54 and posted its sixth win of the year in adults 18-49, more than any other network. Season-to-date, CBS is now first in all key measures.
The week saw series high ratings for THE BIG BANG THEORY, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and ELEVENTH HOUR, season best deliveries for TWO AND A HALF MEN and OLD CHRISTINE as well as CSI's largest audience since its season premiere.
CBS has 13 new and returning programs up vs. the year-ago program/time period, more than any other network: THE BIG BANG THEORY, HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, TWO AND A HALF MEN, NCIS, THE MENTALIST, WITHOUT A TRACE, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE, CRIMINAL MINDS, CSI: NY, CSI, GHOST WHISPERER, NUMB3RS and 60 MINUTES.
For the week in viewers: CBS (11.91m), NBC (8.76m), ABC (6.31m) and FOX (5.99m). Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (12.03m), ahead of ABC (10.20m), NBC (7.99m) and FOX (7.94m).
For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (4.3/11) and adults 18-49 (3.3/09). Compared to the same week last year, CBS was up +6% in households, +7% in viewers, +8% in adults 25-54 and +3% in adults 18-49. CBS has posted weekly gains in viewers for the fifth consecutive week. Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.

THE BIG BANG THEORY posted series highs in households and viewers.
? HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER was first in households (6.4/10), adults 25-54 (4.7/11), adults 18-49 (4.2/11), adults 18-34 (3.9/10) and second in viewers (10.49m). This is HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER's best delivery in adults 18-34 ever, in households since Feb. 5, 2007 and best viewer total since March 24, 2008 (the first Britney Spears appearance).
? TWO AND A HALF MEN was first in households (9.5/14), viewers (15.59m), adults 25-54 (6.3/14) and adults 18-49 (5.2/13). This is TWO AND A HALF MEN's best deliveries in households and viewers since Feb. 26, 2007.
