"The 35th Annual People's Choice Awards" Places First in Adults 18-49 and Is Up Double Digit Percentages in All Measures Versus Last Year
Rebroadcasts of Wednesday Comedies Place First in Viewers and Key Demos
CBS Wins Wednesday in All Measures
A strong comeback by THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS and first places finishes by rebroadcasts of CBS's Wednesday comedies led the Network to a nightly win in viewers and key demographics, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Jan. 7.
From 9:00-11:00 PM, THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS (S) was first in adults 18-49 (2.9/08) and second in households (6.0/10), viewers (9.32m) and adults 25-54 (3.6/08, -0.1 behind ABC). THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AWARDS was up +43% in households (from 4.2/07), +80% in adults 25-54 (from 2.0/05), +81% in adults 18-49 (from 1.6/04) and added +3.36m viewers (from 5.96m, +56%) compared to last year's event (on January 8, 2008).
At 8:00 PM, THE NEW ADVENTURES OF OLD CHRISTINE (R) was first in households (5.3/09), viewers (8.22m), adults 25-54 (3.0/08) and adults 18-49 (2.3/07).
At 8:30 PM, GARY UNMARRIED (R) was first in households (4.7/07), viewers (7.36m), adults 25-54 (2.9/07) and adults 18-49 (2.3/06).
For the night, CBS was first in households (5.7/09), viewers (8.81m), adults 25-54 (3.4/08) and adults 18-49 (2.7/07) CBS won six of the last eight Wednesdays in adults 25-54 and adults 18-49.
