"60 MINUTES" IS THE NUMBER FOUR PROGRAM OF THE WEEK
CBS News Magazine Makes the Top 10 for Ninth Straight Broadcast with Sunday's Program Posting Significant Increases in Key Demos Over Same Night Last Year
Once again, 60 MINUTES drew one of the largest audiences of the week to finish at number four among Nielsen's top 10 programs in the week ending Feb. 8, making the list for the ninth straight broadcast.
The hit program has made the list every time it has been broadcast for the past two months.
Sunday's broadcast, featuring Katie Couric's first interview with US Airways Fl. 1549 hero pilot Capt. Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger and his crew, plus Steve Kroft's profile of Grammy-winning rock band Coldplay, won its time period in households (10.4/17), viewers (16.74m) and adults 25-54 (4.3/11). This is 60 MINUTES best delivery in both households and viewers since December 14, 2008.
Compared to the same night last year, 60 MINUTES was up +21% in households, +23% in adults 25-54 and +29% in adults 18-49.
The fourth-place finish also marked the sixth time 60 MINUTES cracked Nielsen's top five programs this season, including back-to-back number-one finishes in mid November.
Jeff Fager is the executive producer of 60 MINUTES.
